Objects such as documents and databases contain knowledge about objects. We consider this knowledge as the content of objects. We represent the content of objects as facts about other objects. We consider both documents and databases as contexts since in the context of these objects some knowledge is valid. This uniform view on documents and databases as contexts brings particular advantage for hypermedia applications. Databases knows about the structure of its hypermedia documents. Hypermedia documents mirror facts about objects. The facts about the structure of hypermedia documents are combined with the content of documents. In this paper, we present the query facilities gained from the combination of factual and content knowledge. We point out the conceptual differences between factual and content-oriented querying. We combine both types of querying and gain a framework for querying hypermedia documents where we can query among both facts and content. 1 Introduction Hypermedia docu..
