Quality evaluation in logistic services
The paper highlights some problems relevant to the quality measurements in logistic services. "Traditional" logistic indicators are compared with the service dimensions defined in the Parasuraman-Zeithaml-Berry model. Furthermore, the problem of service indicators aging is analyzed and discussed. In order to enhance readers' ability to contribute to the development in the field, the authors pose open-ended questions in the articl

Achieving Quality: Consumer Involvement in Quality Evaluation of Services
[Excerpt] The aim of this paper is to raise awareness of the fact that changes in the approach towards the “clients” or “consumers” of services for people with intellectual disability do have an important impact on the way the quality evaluation systems of these services should be designed and organised
Impartial Evaluations of the Printing Quality of Paper
Several methods for the evaluation of paper have been investigated for their desirability as means of an impartial evaluation of the printing quality of paper. The halftone plate method showed the most desired results as an impartial evaluation of both coated and uncoated papers. The printing gage was not found to be a satisfactory method of evaluation. The drawdown method is especially significant in evaluating properties which influence the printing quality but lacks a suitable numerical evaluation
2D SLAM Quality Evaluation Methods
SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and mapping) is one of the most challenging
problems for mobile platforms and there is a huge amount of modern SLAM
algorithms. The choice of the algorithm that might be used in every particular
problem requires prior knowledge about advantages and disadvantages of each
algorithm. This paper presents the approach for comparison of SLAM algorithms
that allows to find the most accurate one. The accent of research is made on 2D
SLAM algorithms and the focus of analysis is 2D map that is built after
algorithm performance. Three metrics for evaluation of maps are presented in
this pape
Measuring the Impact of Quality Improvement in a Software Company
The quality issue is not only a matter of developing and implementing a quality system. It mandatory this system to function precisely on a long term basis. The evaluation of quality impact as a consequence of its improvement is a scary thing the quality specialists prefer to be apart due to its complexity. That’s the reason why the article emphasize on: the need and justification of quality impact evaluation, particularities of quality in software domain generated by its specificity, what evaluation of economic effects means in the context of a quality improvement particularly in a software company, a proposed method to calculate the impact of quality (on the costs structure), a practical example of how the method should be used and the results interpreted based on two simulated case.quality improvement; quality management; software industry; quality impact evaluation; measure quality.
Comparing tools for Service Quality Evaluation
Service quality evaluation is one of the main issues that have recently drawn managers' and researchers' attention. The definition of an evaluation standard not dependent on any particular service context has determined the popularity of many different quality tools. In this paper we show a comparative analysis of the affected tools that are widely used. These are summarized in an orientation map. Moreover we present some results of an experiment carried out with two of the major quality tools (SERVQUAL and QUALITOMETRO). The results identify good qualities as well as weaknesses for both tools. Possible improvement strategies are presente
Assessing the Quality of MT Systems for Hindi to English Translation
Evaluation plays a vital role in checking the quality of MT output. It is
done either manually or automatically. Manual evaluation is very time consuming
and subjective, hence use of automatic metrics is done most of the times. This
paper evaluates the translation quality of different MT Engines for
Hindi-English (Hindi data is provided as input and English is obtained as
output) using various automatic metrics like BLEU, METEOR etc. Further the
comparison automatic evaluation results with Human ranking have also been
