Providing Web Services to Mobile Users Using Agent Technology

    No full text
This paper proposes a framework for which agents can be used for providing web services to mobile users. It describes a set of obliging agents distributed over different sites that work together to provide web services for mobile users. Mobile agents are programs dispatched from a client mobile device to the server to achieve a task. This is much more dynamic than client-server paradigm in which mobile agents act on behalf of mobile user. Mobile Agents are well-suited for the use in the Internet and especially with Mobile Devices and roaming users. In this paper, using agents a service migration scheme is proposed to provide persistent Web services with improved availability by dynamically assigning the most appropriate server to mobile client at any time. The logical mobility designed into a Mobile Agent System is capable of supporting the physical mobility of Mobile devices. Keywords: Mobile agents, Web Services, Mobile Users, Middleware, Servic
