Reconstructing weak values without weak measurements
I propose a scheme for reconstructing the weak value of an observable without
the need for weak measurements. The post-selection in weak measurements is
replaced by an initial projector measurement. The observable can be measured
using any form of interaction, including projective measurements. The
reconstruction is effected by measuring the change in the expectation value of
the observable due to the projector measurement. The weak value may take
nonclassical values if the projector measurement disturbs the expectation value
of the observable.Comment: 6 pages. Accepted in Phys. Lett.

Encapsulated thermoacoustic projector based on freestanding carbon nanotube film
A suspended nanotube film (or films) producing sound by means of the thermoacoustic (TA) effect is encapsulated between two plates, at least one of which vibrates, to enhance sound generation efficiency and protect the film. To avoid the oxidation of carbon nanotubes at elevated temperatures and reduce the thermal inertia of surrounding medium the enclosure is filled with inert gas (preferably with high heat capacity ratio, γ=Cp/Cv, and low heat capacity, Cp). To generate sound directly as the first harmonic of applied audio signal without use of an energy consuming dc biasing, an audio signal modulated carrier frequency at much higher frequency is used to provide power input. Various other inventive means are described to provide enhanced projected sound intensity, increased projector efficiency, and lengthened projector life, like the use of infrared reflecting coatings and particles on the projector plates, non-parallel sheet alignment in sheet stacks, and cooling means on one projector side.Board of Regents, University of Texas Syste
Fredholm methods for billiard eigenfunctions in the coherent state representation
We obtain a semiclassical expression for the projector onto eigenfunctions by
means of the Fredholm theory. We express the projector in the coherent state
basis, thus obtaining the semiclassical Husimi representation of the stadium
eigenfunctions, which is written in terms of classical invariants: periodic
points, their monodromy matrices and Maslov indices.Comment: 12 pages, 10 figures. Submitted to Phys. Rev. E. Comments or

Flat deformation of a spacetime admitting two Killing fields
It is shown that given an analytic Lorentzian metric on a 4-manifold, ,
which admits two Killing vector fields, then it exists a local deformation law
, where is a 2-dimensional projector, such that is
flat and admits the same Killing vectors. We also characterize the particular
case when the projector coincides with the quotient metric. We apply some
of our results to general stationary axisymmetric spacetime
Determining neutralino parameters in Left-Right Supersymmetric Models
We report exact analytical expressions relating the fundamental parameters
describing the neutralino sector in the context of the left-right
supersymmetric model. The method used for such a effects is the projector
formalism deduced without take into account the Jarlskog's projector formulae.
Also, expressions for the neutralino masses and the neutralino mixing matrix
are determined . The results are compared with numerical and analytical ones
obtained in similar scenarios in the context of the minimal supersymmetric
standard model.Comment: 34 pages, 23 figure
