Performance Analysis Of Tdma Based Data Transmission In Wsn

    No full text
WSN contains several challenges mostly related to the energy consumption on account of the energy paucity of the sensor nodes. In order to prevent energy consumption due to the collision of transmission signals TDMA has been emerged as an effective way for assigning transmission schedules among the sensor nodes. In this paper we proposed a novel approach to modify the TDMA and enhance the parallelism in signal transmission and utilize unused time slot in an energy efficient collision free manner using inter and intra level coloring scheme without the consideration of the concept of a global clock. A tree based sensor network representation is used for TDMA application. Non interfering time slots are assigned to the sensor nodes of the tree by coloring method. Minimal coloring of the nodes in a tree structure ensures time efficient network design. Distributed TDMA with parallel access helps in energy efficiency. Experimental results reveal the correctness of our proposed scheme even in an obstructed WSN environment. Our proposed scheme performs better compared to the other existing works, as is manifested in the results
