The Future of Work is a series of client reports based on panel discussions at our Global Employer Forum, a two-day thought leadership conference. Eine kritische Würdigung des Begriffs «Partnerschaft» im Kontext der kirchlichen Entwicklungszusammenarbeit

Magalena Daum hat im Jahr 2015 eine Masterarbeit zum Thema «Mission und Diakonie im Leben von Marie-Claire Barth» verfasst und darin das Verhältnis von Mission und Diakonie im Kontext der ökumenischen Partnerschaft – insbesondere anhand des Wirkens von Marie-Claire Barth – beleuchtet. Die Thematik bearbeitet sie nun in einem diakoniewissenschaftlichen Promotionsprojekt weiter.Der vorliegende Bericht basiert auf den Ergebnissen der Masterarbeit von Magdalena Daum. Auf der Basis einer historischen Rückblende zur Verwendung des Begriffs «Partnerschaft» im Bereich der Entwicklungszusammenarbeit weist sie darin in Streiflichtern auf, welche Herausforderungen oder gar Fallstricke bei der Begriffsverwendung nach wie vor lauern: Zwar bestehe von Seiten der Hilfeleistenden «der Wunsch […], Entwicklungshilfe sollte nicht länger Abhängigkeiten durch einseitige Geldspenden und technische, bildende Hilfeleistungen schaffen», dennoch laufe man mit der Verwendung des Begriffs Gefahr, «Asymmetrien und Machtverhältnisse [zu] verschleiern.

How to deal with the challenges of linking a large number of individual national models: the case of the AGMEMOD Partnership

The AGMEMOD Partnership seeks to capture the inherent existing heterogeneity of agricultural systems by linking together individual EU Member State models, an aggregated EU model and several accession countries into one single model, while still maintaining analytical consistency. Although this approach facilitates the comparison of the impact of a policy change across different Member States, it generates challenges in practical implementation, ranging from significant communication and administration requirements, to aggregation and consistency issues. This contribution provides insights into the different challenges posed to the scientists and discusses the key issues for maintenance and further development of such a complex system. Global school relationships. School linking and future challenges

The process of School Linking has attained a raised profile in UK Development Education circles in recent years. This paper reviews recent literature ans issues. It set out to answer these research questions: What is the interest in North-South School Links for people in the North and the South and what are possible contradictions? How in the School Linking process currently evaluated? Arising from these research questions, the concluding section seeks to identify the challenges for further Links and potential research topics in the field. New Markets for Local Experts in Africa?

In the past decades the involvement of local experts in the planning and evaluation of development programs has steadily increased. Ownership of development planning is propagated as major aim of bilateral and international development co-operation. Yet, the quality and performance of many local experts is still open to question, last but not least, because they share the same technocratic bias as quite a number of their Western counterparts, notably concerning pro-poor development policies, empowerment and ill-adapted technology transfer. Task Force - ein Gutachten zu den politischen und wirtschaftlichen Beziehungen Ostasien-NRW

Die Beiträge der Studie stellen ein Gutachten zu den politischen und wirtschaftlichen Beziehungen zwischen dem Bundesland Nordrhein-Westfalen (NRW) und den asiatischen Ländern VR China, Japan und Vietnam dar. Das Gutachten wurde im Sommer 2000 für die Staatskanzlei NRW von Studierenden der Gerhard-Mercator-Universität Duisburg erstellt und behandelt fünf Themen: · Direktkontakte NRW und VR China: Bilaterale Entwicklungszusammenarbeit. · Direktkontakte NRW und VR China: Städtepartnerschaften: Rahmenbedingungen und künftige Gestaltung. · Direktkontakt Nordrhein-Westfalen - Vietnam. · Japan und NRW: Wirtschaftsbeziehungen und gezielte, bilaterale Entwicklungszusammenarbeit: möglich oder illusorisch? · Regionalkooperationen zwischen NRW und Japan und ihre Bedeutung für kleine und mittlere Unternehmen (KMU).
