Les Eleccions a Vila-rodona durant el període 1976-2011

Aquest article pretén oferir una visió de llarg termini dels resultats electorals a un municipi de petita dimensió de l'interior de Catalunya, en les difernets eleccíons (municipals, al Parlament de Catalunya, a les Corts Espanyoles, al Parlament Europeu a més dels referèndums ). Els resultats ens permetran veure quina ha estat l'evolució ideològica del municipi, de manera paral3lela a les transformacions econòmiques, polítiquesi socials de la Catalunya del segon terç del segle XX i de principis del XX

HOW GOVERNMENTS RESPOND TO BUSINESS DEMANDS FOR TAX CUTS: AN ANALYSIS OF CORPORATE AND INHERITANCE TAX REFORMS IN AUSTRIA AND SWEDEN. CES Open Forum Series 2018-2019

This paper analyses government responsiveness to business demands for tax cuts, using case studies of reforms of corporate taxes and inheritance taxes in Austria and Sweden. We find a high level of government responsiveness in both policy fields, but much higher responsiveness on inheritance tax. We argue that this difference between the two policy fields is the result of an effort by governments to balance three conflicting goals: (i) attracting investments, (ii) maintaining a high level of tax revenues, (iii) and maintaining electoral popularity. The intensity of these goal conflicts varied between the two policy fields. It was higher on corporate taxation, which led governments to combine cuts to corporate tax with compensatory measures, the abolition of inheritance tax in both countries was not combined with compensatory measures, because goal conflicts were low. We show that differences in the expected electoral and fiscal impacts of reforms explain the different levels of government responsiveness. Government efforts to reconcile the three policy goals under conditions of heightened business power entailed sacrificing redistributive goals that have characterized tax policies in earlier periods.

Les elits polítiques del Parlament de Catalunya. Un estudi sociològic i polític dels diputats de la cinquena legislatura

L'estudi que presentem forma part d'un treball de recerca sobre les elits polítiques parlamentàries de Catalunya, desenvolupat per estudiants de tercer cicle de la Universitat de Barcelona sota la direcció del doctor Jordi Matas. Per ser més exactes, s'ha centrat en els diputats de la cinquena legislatura del Parlament de Catalunya: totes les persones que van sortir elegides en les eleccions autonòmiques del dinou de novembre de 1995 i que actualment exerceixen el càrrec de diputat. La intenció és conèixer qui són aquestes persones, com les podem caracteritzar i definir des del punt de vista sociològic i polític. Totes ocupen per definició unes posicions de poder en la institució més característica de la democràcia liberal: el Parlament. [From the Introduction]. Die Europäische Union in ihrer gegenwärtigen Form hat wenig mit der EWG gemeinsam, zu deren Gründungsmitgliedern die Bundesrepublik Deutschland gehörte. Europa und die Union haben sich seither beträchtlich verändert: Jede der nachfolgenden Erweiterungen führte über kurz oder lang zu einer verstärkten wirtschaftlichen und auch politischen Integration. Gleichzeitig veranlaßte dies die Regierungen der Mitgliedstaaten, die repräsentativsten Gemeinschaftsinstitutionen - das Parlament und die Kommission - zu stärken. Das Parlament, das im Laufe der Zeit schrittweise seine Zuständigkeiten errungen hat, hat sich parallel zu diesem dualen Prozeß der Erweiterung und Integration entwickelt. Ehe ich mich dem Vertrag von Amsterdam zuwende, möchte ich einige spezifische Informationen zum Europäischen Parlament darlegen, da der öffentliche Eindruck des Parlaments infolge der kontinuierlichen Entwicklung der Institution häufig lediglich aus einer Reihe von Klischees besteht, die nicht länger der Wirklichkeit entsprechen. Lassen Sie mich einen gewagten Vergleich anstellen: Mit dem Parlament verhält es sich genau so wie mit Astronomen und den Sternen: Die Entfernung wirkt sich so aus, daß das, was wir sehen, nicht dem derzeit bestehenden Zustand entspricht, sondern lediglich eine Projektion der Vergangenheit darstellt
