Optimising basic edge detectors for particular acquisition systems

The optimisation of edge operators for use with individual acquisition systems has been reported. The system's edge spread function was measured, sets of test images were computed from this, and then edge detectors from 3 x 3 to 7 x 7 pixels were optimised for the particular system.
