    The Implementation of Online Features of Blended Learning Method in Critical Reading Class at B University

    This thesis is a study of the online aspects of Blended Learning Method implementation and the example implemented in the Critical Reading class in B University. The purposes of the study are to see the implementation of the online aspects of the blended learning criteria in the classroom and the example of its implementation. The theory used is the criteria of blended learning class from Thorne (2003). The finding revealed that most of the criteria are implemented. However, the findings only focused on online features, so there will be some points not implemented in the class, since it could be implemented in offline class. Some examples of the implementation were the USAge of Moodle as a help to adapt to blended learning method, USAge of wide range of option in giving task and assignments to students, and giving access to contact the most appropriate person in the class

    Every organization needs a viable business model. Strikingly, most of current literature is focused on business model design, whereas there is almost no attention for business model validation and implementation and related business model experimentation. The goal of the research as described in this paper is to develop a business model engineering tool for supporting business model management as a continuous design, validation and implementation cycle. The tool is applied to an online investment research startup in roll out and market phase. This paper describes the research as performed in a case study setting by focusing on the design, implementation and evaluation of the business model engineering tool. We also analyze the actual implementation and usage of the business model tool by the online investment research startup by focusing on the most critical actions related to actual business model implementation – i.e. actions with so-called ‘Lollapalooza tendencies’

    A Faster Implementation of Online Run-Length Burrows-Wheeler Transform

    Run-length encoding Burrows-Wheeler Transformed strings, resulting in Run-Length BWT (RLBWT), is a powerful tool for processing highly repetitive strings. We propose a new algorithm for online RLBWT working in run-compressed space, which runs in O(nlgr)O(n\lg r) time and O(rlgn)O(r\lg n) bits of space, where nn is the length of input string SS received so far and rr is the number of runs in the BWT of the reversed SS. We improve the state-of-the-art algorithm for online RLBWT in terms of empirical construction time. Adopting the dynamic list for maintaining a total order, we can replace rank queries in a dynamic wavelet tree on a run-length compressed string by the direct comparison of labels in a dynamic list. The empirical result for various benchmarks show the efficiency of our algorithm, especially for highly repetitive strings.Comment: In Proc. IWOCA201

    Implementation of a novel online condition monitoring thermal prognostic indicator system

    This research aims to develop a reliable and robust online condition monitoring thermal prognostic indicator system which will reduce the risk of failures in a Power System Network. Real-time measurements (weather conditions, temperature of the cable joints or terminations, loading demand) taken close to underground cable will update the prognostic simulation model. Anomalies of the measurements along the cable will be compared with the predicted ones hence indicating a possible degradation activity in the cable. The use of such systems within a power networks will provide a smarter way of prognostic condition monitoring in which you measure less and model more. The use of suggested thermal models will enable the power network operators to maximize asset utilization and minimize constraint costs in the system

    Online banking customization via tag-based interaction

    In this paper, we describe ongoing work on online banking customization with a particular focus on interaction. The scope of the study is confined to the Australian banking context where the lack of customization is evident. This paper puts forward the notion of using tags to facilitate personalized interactions in online banking. We argue that tags can afford simple and intuitive interactions unique to every individual in both online and mobile environments. Firstly, through a review of related literature, we frame our work in the customization domain. Secondly, we define a range of taggable resources in online banking. Thirdly, we describe our preliminary prototype implementation with respect to interaction customization types. Lastly, we conclude with a discussion on future work
