    Development of the New Point Scale of Organoleptic Evaluation at Manufacturing Organic Cakes

    The article presents the ground of developing the 50-point scale for evaluating cakes by organoleptic parameters. The aim of the article is to create the new point scale of organoleptic evaluation for using at producing organic cakes. It was established, that for today such important parameters as “flavor”, “post-flavor”, “porosity structure” are not always used at the organoleptic evaluation of cakes' quality. The article describes the recipes of four developed cakes, produced of the organic raw materials – “Grechanyk”, based on buckwheat flour, “Zhytnytsa', based on rye flour, “Golden amaranth”, based on amaranth flour and “Hempen delight”, based on hempen flour. For evaluating organoleptic characteristics of cakes, there was presented 50-point scale that includes evaluation of the following parameters: form, surface condition, color of crust, condition and color of crumble, porosity structure, smell, taste, flavor, post-taste, malaxation of crumble. Based on the method of expert evaluations, there were determined significance coefficients for each parameter. Thus, coefficient 0,5 was set for the parameters “porosity structure” and 1,5 for “color” and “smell”, the significance coefficient was equal 1 for a series of other parameters. The developed scale provided the following criteria of cakes evaluation: 45–50 points − "perfectly”, 40–44 points − "well", 30–39 points − "satisfactorily”, lower 30 points – “unsatisfactorily”. Based on the developed scale, the developed cakes were evaluated by the gustatory commission. All developed cakes corresponded to the mark “perfectly” by organoleptic parameters. The highest index of the quality level was inherent to the cake “Grechanyk” " – 0,99 at general sum of points for the gustatory evaluation 49,95. The cake Zhytnytsa corresponded to 0,98 by the quality level, "Hempen delight" – 0,96. The lowest quality level was detected in the cake “Golden amaranth” (0,94),that is caused by the specific taste of amaranth flour

    The arena of investigation of star formation and its scaling laws is slowly, but consistently, shifting from the realm of luminous galaxies to that of faint ones and to sub--galactic regions, as existing and new facilities enable investigators to probe regions of the combined parameter space of surface brightness, wavelength, and angular resolution that were inaccessible until a few years ago.     Extending Higgs Inflation with TeV Scale New Physics

    Higgs inflation is among the most economical and predictive inflation models, although the original Higgs inflation requires tuning the Higgs or top mass away from its current experimental value by more than 2σ2\sigma deviations, and generally gives a negligible tensor-to-scalar ratio r103r \sim 10^{-3} (if away from the vicinity of critical point). In this work, we construct a minimal extension of Higgs inflation, by adding only two new weak-singlet particles at TeV scale, a vector-quark TT and a real scalar SS. The presence of singlets (T,S)(T, S) significantly impact the renormalization group running of the Higgs boson self-coupling. With this, our model provides a wider range of the tensor-to-scalar ratio r=O(0.1103)r = O(0.1 - 10^{-3}), consistent with the favored rr values by either BICEP2 or Planck data, while keeping the successful prediction of the spectral index ns0.96 n_s \simeq 0.96 . It further allows the Higgs and top masses to fully fit the collider measurements. We also discuss implications for searching the predicted TeV-scale vector-quark TT and scalar SS at the LHC and future high energy pp colliders.Comment: 20pp, to match JCAP Final Versio

    New phenomena in the standard no-scale supergravity model

    We revisit the no-scale mechanism in the context of the simplest no-scale supergravity extension of the Standard Model. This model has the usual five-dimensional parameter space plus an additional parameter ξ3/2m3/2/m1/2\xi_{3/2}\equiv m_{3/2}/m_{1/2}. We show how predictions of the model may be extracted over the whole parameter space. A necessary condition for the potential to be stable is StrM4>0{\rm Str}{\cal M}^4>0, which is satisfied if \bf m_{3/2}\lsim2 m_{\tilde q}. Order of magnitude calculations reveal a no-lose theorem guaranteeing interesting and potentially observable new phenomena in the neutral scalar sector of the theory which would constitute a ``smoking gun'' of the no-scale mechanism. This new phenomenology is model-independent and divides into three scenarios, depending on the ratio of the weak scale to the vev at the minimum of the no-scale direction. We also calculate the residual vacuum energy at the unification scale (C0m3/24C_0\, m^4_{3/2}), and find that in typical models one must require C0>10C_0>10. Such constraints should be important in the search for the correct string no-scale supergravity model.     New Scale Factor Measure

    The computation of probabilities in an eternally inflating universe requires a regulator or "measure". The scale factor time measure truncates the universe when a congruence of timelike geodesics has expanded by a fixed volume factor. This definition breaks down if the generating congruence is contracting---a serious limitation that excludes from consideration gravitationally bound regions such as our own. Here we propose a closely related regulator which is well-defined in the entire spacetime. The New Scale Factor Cutoff restricts to events with scale factor below a given value. Since the scale factor vanishes at caustics and crunches, this cutoff always includes an infinite number of disconnected future regions. We show that this does not lead to divergences. The resulting measure combines desirable features of the old scale factor cutoff and of the light-cone time cutoff, while eliminating some of the disadvantages of each.Comment: 20 pages, 1 figure; v2: references adde

    A New Scale to Measure War Attitudes: Construction and Predictors

    Attitudes people have toward war in general have been of recent interest due to the war on terrorism and the war in Iraq. The purpose of this research was to develop a scale to measure war attitudes and to investigate factors that may influence these attitudes. In the first study, a scale was developed that measured war attitudes. Three factors emerging from the War Attitude Scale were labeled ethics of war, support for war, and affect about war. Patriotism-nationalism, authoritarianism, social criticism, belief in war outcomes, support of the president, and gender were found to be significant predictors of war attitudes. In the second study, the scale was administered to a community sample. A confirmatory factor analysis was conducted with three similar factors emerging. Additionally, the community sample results allowed further generalization of the findings. Implications for the construction of the War Attitude Scale and its predictors are discussed
