Blockchain-Based Process Control and Monitoring Architecture for Vertical Integration of Industry 4.0
Industrial Internet of Things is a new milestone that will require new
industry paradigms and investments. In this context, cyber-physical systems are
considered the bridge to the fourth revolution. Centralized approaches and
observance of real-time constraints are two important challenges that must be
overcome for the advancement of Industry 4.0. To solve these problems, a
blockchain-based vertical integration architecture of the process automation
systems is proposed in which it performs the control and monitoring of
industrial processes. Proof of concept experiments reveal the feasibility and
