An introduction to overlay journals
An overlay journal performs all the activities of a scholarly journal and relies on structural links with one or more archives or repositories to perform its activities.
This paper offers a briefing on the contribution overlay journals can make to scholarly communication. It explains what ‘overlay’ services are, how overlay journals have evolved and what makes their contribution to scholarly communication so valuable

Editorial
An introduction to the journal is presented in which the author discusses several articles including those on today's teaching and learning of language and music, Sylvia Ashton-Warner's contribution to educational theory and classroom pedagogy and curriculum and curriculum change
Sling effect in collisions of water droplets in turbulent clouds
We describe and evaluate the contribution of sling effect into the collision
rate of the same-size water droplets in turbulent clouds. We show that already
for Stokes numbers exceeding 0.2 the sling effect gives a contribution
comparable to Saffman-Turner contribution, which may explain why the latter
consistently underestimates collision rate (even with the account of
preferential concentration).Comment: 7 pages, 6 figures; preprint submitted to Journal of Atmospheric

Credit allocation based on journal impact factor and coauthorship contribution
Some research institutions demand researchers to distribute the incomes they
earn from publishing papers to their researchers and/or co-authors. In this
study, we deal with the Impact Factor-based ranking journal as a criteria for
the correct distribution of these incomes. We also include the Authorship
Credit factor for distribution of the incomes among authors, using the
geometric progression of Cantor's theory and the Harmonic Credit Index.
Depending on the ranking of the journal, the proposed model develops a proper
publication credit allocation among all authors. Moreover, our tool can be
deployed in the evaluation of an institution for a funding program, as well as
calculating the amounts necessary to incentivize research among personnel.Comment: 9 pages; 3 figures; 2 table
Instantons and Non-Perturbative Dynamics of N=2 Supersymmetric Abelian Gauge Theories in Two Dimensions
We study N=2 supersymmetric Abelian gauge model with the Fayet-Iliopoulos
term and an arbitrary number of chiral matter multiplets in two dimensions. By
analyzing the instanton contribution we compute the non-perturbative
corrections to the mass spectrum of the theory and the quantum deformation of
the classical vacua space. In contrast to known examples the non-perturbative
bosonic potential is saturated by the one-instanton contribution and can be
directly found within the semiclassical expansion around the one-instanton
saddle point.Comment: journal versio
