What do peer support workers do? A job description.
BackgroundThe extant literature suggests that poorly defined job roles make it difficult for peer support workers to be successful, and hinder their integration into multi-disciplinary workplace teams. This article uses data gathered as part of a participatory evaluation of a peer support program at a psychiatric tertiary care facility to specify the work that peers do.MethodsData were gathered through interviews, focus groups, and activity logs and were analyzed using a modified grounded theory approach.ResultsPeers engage in direct work with clients and in indirect work that supports their work with clients. The main types of direct work are advocacy, connecting to resources, experiential sharing, building community, relationship building, group facilitation, skill building/mentoring/goal setting, and socialization/self-esteem building. The main types of indirect work are group planning and development, administration, team communication, supervision/training, receiving support, education/awareness building, and information gathering and verification. In addition, peers also do work aimed at building relationships with staff and work aimed at legitimizing the peer role. Experience, approach, presence, role modeling, collaboration, challenge, and compromise can be seen as the tangible enactments of peers' philosophy of work.ConclusionsCandidates for positions as peer support workers require more than experience with mental health and/or addiction problems. The job description provided in this article may not be appropriate for all settings, but it will contribute to a better understanding of the peer support worker position, the skills required, and the types of expectations that could define successful fulfillment of the role

This report is based on the job training in Sahid Jaya Hotel Solo.
The job training was from 22 April until 22 June 2009. The
objectives of the report are to describe the job description of a
waiter in Ratu Ratih Café.
A waiter in Ratu Ratih Café has two main duties, first is
completing pre set up preparation and second, completing general
set up. The pre-set up preparation includes polishing cutleries, cups
and goblets water, while general set up includes breakfast set up,
diner-lunch set up and handling the guest. To give good service to
the guest requires good performance and style. Guest’s satisfaction
indicates the quality of service from waiters
On-the job knowledge sharing: how to train employees to share job knowledge
One of the challenging issues many organizations are facing is to find the best ways to encourage employees share what they have learned on their jobs. Rewarding employees may
be one of the techniques used to promote knowledge sharing but there are still psychological barriers preventing employees from sharing knowledge. In many cases, rewarding employees for sharing knowledge ends up in developing the behaviour of hoarding knowledge among employees. Based on a review of existing literature, this article explains how employers can make employees practice knowledge sharing in their daily work activities. The article introduces 12 approaches on how knowledge sharing can be cultivated in the job and train employees to accept that it is their job to share knowledge. Some of the methods discussed include; peer assist, training and mentoring, challenging projects, job description, job rotation, cross training, and sharing sessions. The article also discusses how on-the-job
knowledge sharing can promote individual performance among employees. The intention of this article is to provide a framework that helps organizations to choose various methods of knowledge sharing that suit the organization’s needs in order to cultivate sharing of job knowledge and to save the knowledge as an asset

A Company needs to carry out job analysis, because job analysis is one of process to get an overview of the work. Job analysis has phases which will generate job description and job specification effectively and efficiently. The purpose of this research is to know the process of the preparation of job description based on phases of job analysis administration underwriting/claim staff, technique section in company and the methods used to conduct research is by interview and the data of the company. The result showed that the company carried out phases are, planning job analysis, preparing job analysis, implementation job analysis, and evaluation job analysis of the phases, the phases generate job description.

The Effect Of Companys Reputation, Job Description and Offered Compensation on Individuals Intention to Apply a Job. Recruitment process is one of key HR activities that should be conducted appropriately in a company. However, the role of prospective employees in providing inputs to the company regarding the recruitment process is not clear. The aim of this research is to understand the perspectives of potential employees regarding the effect of companys reputation, job description and offered compensation on individuals intention to apply a job. The participants are 73 final-year undergraduate students at the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Udayana, with the proportionate stratified random sampling as the sampling method. This research used multiple regressions as its data analysis method. This research found that all three variables influence individual to apply a certain job. This final project report is written based on the job training done at Solo Grand
Mall within a month. The writer did some jobs with the supervisor of Public Relations
of Solo Grand Mall by helping the supervisor to finish her job like written press release,
attending events, etc. to gain the information reported in this report. The objectives of
this report are: 1) to describe the job description of public relation, 2) to describe the
relationship between Public Relations and mass media.
The following job description of Public Relations of Solo Grand Mall are forming
and keeping reputation for company, managing company functions, covering
information to the public, arranging and distributing press release. The relationship
between Public Relations of Solo Grand Mall and mass media such as newspaper, radio,
television is realized in special program held in several mass media or press release.
Solo Grand Mall has a program called “Gerai Metta bersama Solo Grand Mall” in radio
Metta FM Solo as one of the radio partners of Solo Grand Mall. Another program is
“PROSPEK” conducted in TATV as one of the television partners of Solo Grand Mall.
The programs with the media work well. It can be seen by the raising trust of public to
Solo Grand Mall and the rising number of visitor in Solo Grand Mall.
In conclusion, as a big shopping center, Solo Grand Mall should maintain the
relationship well, because mass media has many important roles in business world
especially to raise public awareness in modern lifestyle necessity
