Parser as a Novel Reliability Implementation in the Pervasive Computing

    Get PDF
The ubiquity of mobile devices affects the way society works beyond voice and text messaging. Smart phone capabilities have become similar to those of computers. They promote users to engage in social networking, flash reports, and other vital applications. These mobile devices can also be used to control other devices. However, the heterogeneity of operating systems, hardware, and protocols has brought about the challenge of ensuring that messages could be reliably transferred between these mobile devices with different communicating equipments. Hence in this paper, we showed how a parser could be used as a reliability mechanism over our proposed system. Additionally, we showed how message queue was used as a technique for the pervasive computing to interoperate

Java Communication Interfaces for Control Systems

In this paper, we will report an effort to lift the conceptual level of Java programming for communications in control systems to the level of CODARTS interfaces. Having implemented every component of the communication interfaces defined by CODARTS, we have constructed a Java class library that facilitates a direct mapping from CODARTS design diagram to Java program components. This will not only simplify the programming but also improve the quality of software. 1. Introduction The Java software development environment has been progressing phenomenally. The expansion of the Java API, the development of Java Beans and IBM's Visual Age are some promising achievements among others. Clearly, the use of Java will be much beyond enhancement of web browsing. Being platform neutral, network-aware and purely object-oriented, Java is an ideal programming language for development of large heterogeneous industrial control systems as well as network-ready household appliance controllers.
