On the isometric embedding problem for length metric spaces
We prove that every proper -dimensional length metric space admits an
"approximate isometric embedding" into Lorentzian space .
By an "approximate isometric embedding" we mean an embedding which preserves
the energy functional on a prescribed set of geodesics connecting a dense set
of points.Comment: 40 pages, 10 figure
Lipschitz embeddings of random sequences
We develop a new multi-scale framework flexible enough to solve a number of
problems involving embedding random sequences into random sequences. Grimmett,
Liggett and Richthammer asked whether there exists an increasing M-Lipschitz
embedding from one i.i.d. Bernoulli sequences into an independent copy with
positive probability. We give a positive answer for large enough M. A closely
related problem is to show that two independent Poisson processes on R are
roughly isometric (or quasi-isometric). Our approach also applies in this case
answering a conjecture of Szegedy and of Peled. Our theorem also gives a new
proof to Winkler's compatible sequences problem.Comment: 46 pages, 3 figures adde
Global embeddings of BTZ and Schwarzschild-AdS type black holes in a flat space
We study the problem of construction of global isometric embedding for
spherically symmetric black holes with negative cosmological constant in
various dimensions. Firstly, we show that there is no such embedding for 4D
RN-AdS black hole in 6D flat ambient space, completing the classification which
we started earlier. Then we construct an explicit embedding of non-spinning BTZ
black hole in 6D flat ambient space. Using this embedding as an anzats, we then
construct a global explicit embedding of (d)-dimensional Schwarzschild-AdS
black hole in a flat (d+3)-dimensional ambient space.Comment: 15 page
