Report of the Communications Service of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate on the Work of the Commission for the Investigation of the Crisis in the Diocese of Sourozh
The present report has been compiled from materials gathered by the Commission investigating the crisis in the Diocese of Sourozh. This is connected with the decision of the Diocesan Administrator, Bishop Basil of Sergievo, to go over to the Patriarchate of Constantinople. The Commission was appointed by decree of His Holiness Alexis, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, on 9 May 2006, and approved in the Minutes of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church of 7 June 2006. The temporary Administrator of the Diocese of Sourozh, Archbishop Innokenty of Korsun, was appointed Chairman of the Commission. Other members were Archbishop Mark of Berlin, Germany and Great Britain (ROCOR), Archpriest Nikolai Balashov, Secretary for Inter-Orthodox Relations in the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate (DECR) and Priest Michael Dudko, Secretary for Church-Society Relations of the DECR
Investigating mathematical investigations
There are good reasons why we may involve the students in doing mathematics
investigations. Recent curricula encourage this sort of activity but we notice that its
application in the classroom is not a simple matter. We discuss the issues that arise
when students are presented with investigative tasks, with special interest in the dynamics of the classroom and in the role of the teacher. Our aim is to derive suggestions for classroom practice as well as for further research and teacher
development
Investigating Unipolar Switching in Niobium Oxide Resistive Switches: Correlating Quantized Conductance and Mechanism
Memory devices based on resistive switching (RS) have not been fully realised
due to lack of understanding of the underlying switching mechanisms. Nature of
ion transport responsible for switching and growth of conducting filament in
transition metal oxide based RS devices is still in debate. Here, we
investigated the mechanism in Niobium oxide based RS devices, which shows
unipolar switching with high ON/OFF ratio, good endurance cycles and high
retention times. We controlled the boundary conditions between low-conductance
insulating and a high-conductance metallic state where conducting filament (CF)
can form atomic point contact and exhibit quantized conductance behaviour.
Based on the statistics generated from quantized steps data, we demonstrated
that the CF is growing atom by atom with the applied voltage sweeps. We also
observed stable quantized states, which can be utilized in multistate
switching
Investigating Emotions in Creative Design
A wealth of research has suggested that emotions play a significant role in the creative problem solving process, but less work has focused on investigating the role of emotions in the design process. This is surprising given that creative problem solving lies at the heart of the design processes. In an exploratory study we interviewed 9 expert designers about their emotions during the design process. The content analysis allowed us to identify the various types of emotions relevant in the design process and to extend Wallas’ model of creative problem solving with emotional components for each of its stages. In addition, we identified two important roles of emotions in design and several ways in which expert designers regulate their emotions. We discussed the theoretical and practical applications of our work
Investigating the Relationship Between Mental Health and Insomnia in Pregnant Women Referred to Health Centers in Estahban
Pregnancy is the most sensitive period in women's life which makes many physical and mental changes. Sleep problems are one of the issues that are reported by pregnant women; it appears to be associated with psychological consequences in pregnant women. This study aims to investigate the relationship between mental health and insomnia in pregnant women referred to health centers in estahban. This descriptive-analytic study has been done on 182 pregnant women referred to health centers of Estahban in 2015 by available sampling method. Research tools used in this study were general health questionnaire 28 (GHQ 28) and insomnia severity index (ISI).Data were analyzed using Chi-Square and Pearson Correlation tests in SPSS 22 software. Research findings showed that 46.2% of women were suspected of mental disorders, and 58.8% of them suffered from insomnia. According to Chi-square test, there was a significant relationship between total score of mental health and a total score of insomnia(r=0.58, p<0.05). Also, a significant relationship was observed in all variables of mental health and insomnia (p<0.05). Results indicate a high level of mental disorders as well as insomnia among pregnant women; also, the mutual effect of these diseases on each other. As a result, sleep hygiene education as well as appropriate consideration and counseling to pregnant women to treat disorders for achieving a safe pregnancy are recommended
A Spin Model for Investigating Chirality
Spin chirality has generated great interest recently both from possible
applications to flux phases and intrinsically, as an example of a several-site
magnetic order parameter that can be long-ranged even where simpler order
parameters are not. Previous work (motivated by the flux phases) has focused on
antiferromagnetic chiral order; we construct a model in which the chirality
orders ferromagnetically and investigate the model's behavior as a function of
spin. Enlisting the aid of exact diagonalization, spin-waves, perturbation
theory, and mean fields, we conclude that the model likely has long-ranged
chiral order for spins 1 and greater and no non-trivial chiral order for spin

Investigating Bimodal Clustering in Human Mobility
We apply a simple clustering algorithm to a large dataset of cellular
telecommunication records, reducing the complexity of mobile phone users' full
trajectories and allowing for simple statistics to characterize their
properties. For the case of two clusters, we quantify how clustered human
mobility is, how much of a user's spatial dispersion is due to motion between
clusters, and how spatially and temporally separated clusters are from one

Investigating plywood behaviour in outdoor conditions
Moisture behaviour of plywood is investigated in combination with detailed structural analysis. In the lab, neutron radiography and X-ray computed tomography (X-ray CT) were used to map the moisture distribution and internal structure of plywood respectively. In an outdoor natural weathering test, the average moisture content (MC) and moisture distribution of plywood were monitored using a continuous moisture measurement set-up and an adapted electrical method, respectively. The structural changes of the specimens during weathering were recorded by using X-ray CT. Based on the interrelationship of moisture behaviour and structure, suggestions are given for improving the water resistance of plywood by optimising structure
