Abstract Recursive Fractal Genome Function in the geometric mind frame of Tensor Network Theory (TNT) leads through FractoGene to a mathematical unification of physiological and pathological development of neural structure and function as governed by the genome. The cerebellum serves as the best platform for unification of neuroscience and genomics. The matrix of massively parallel neural nets of fractal Purkinje brain cells explains the sensorimotor, multidimensional non-Euclidean coordination by the cerebellum acting as a space-time metric tensor. In TNT, the recursion of covariant sensory vectors into contravariant motor executions converges into Eigenstates composing the cerebellar metric as a Moore-Penrose Pseudo-Inverse. The Principle of Recursion is generalized to genomic systems with the realization that the assembly of proteins from nucleic acids as governed by regulation of coding RNA (cRNA) is a contravariant multi-component functor, where in turn the quantum states of resulting protein structures both in intergenic and intronic sequences are measured in a covariant manner by non-coding RNA (ncRNA) arising as a result of proteins binding with ncDNA modulated by transcription factors. Thus, cRNA and ncRNA vectors by their interference constitute a genomic metric. Recursion through massively parallel neural network and genomic systems raises the question if it obeys the Weyl law of Fractal Quantum Eigenstates, or when derailed, pathologically results in aberrant methylation or chromatin modulation; the root cause of cancerous growth. The growth of fractal Purkinje neurons of the cerebellum is governed by the aperiodical discrete quantum system of sequences of DNA bases, codons and motifs. The full genome is fractal; the discrete quantum system of pyknonlike elements follows the Zipf-Mandelbrot Parabolic Fractal Distribution curve. The Fractal Approach to Recursive Iteration has been used to identify fractal defects causing a cerebellar disease, the Friedreich Spinocerebellar Ataxia -in this case as runs disrupting a fractal regulatory sequence. Massive deployment starts by an open domain collaborative definition of a standard for fractal genome dimension in the embedding spaces of the genome-epigenome-methylome to optimally diagnose cancerous hologenome in the nucleotide, codon or motif-hyperspaces. Recursion is parallelized both by open domain algorithms, and also by proprietary FractoGene algorithms on high performance computing platforms, for genome analytics on accelerated private hybrid clouds with PDA personal interfaces, becoming the mainstay of clinical genomic measures prior and post cancer intervention in hospitals and serve consumers at large as Personal Genome Assistants. The Near-death experience: implications for neuroscience and non-local consciousness

Near-death experiences (NDE) raise important questions about the nature of human consciousness, the relationship between brain function and consciousness, the perceptual information that is available to consciousness in moments before death, the role of physical and biological mechanisms associated with altered states of consciousness, and relationships between consciousness, space-time and phenomenal reality. Challenges posed by efforts to define the NDE, claims of anomalous experiences associated with NDEs, the problem of “timing” of NDEs with respect to brain function, recent findings from neuroscience are reviewed, along with emerging evidence for quantum models of consciousness that may help elucidate the nature of NDEs. I propose that the diversity, complexity and quality of imagery retrospectively interpreted as NDEs reflect a multiplicity of potential neural pathways and the degree to which a heritable NDE predisposition is present in each unique individual. Certain NDE features are probably explainable by neuroscience and take place in 4-dimensional space-time while other NDE features such as confirmed cases of veridical perception and other so-called “anomalous” experiences may be consistent with postulated non-local characteristics of consciousness mediated by quantum-like processes or other non-classical processes (Kafatos et al., 2015) or may reflect relationships between consciousness and the environment that take place in higher order space-times. I propose an integral model that reconciles conventional neural explanations and postulated non-classical models of consciousness. The article concludes with suggestions for animal and human studies aimed at further elucidating neurophysiological mechanisms and postulated quantum-like or other non-classical mechanisms in NDEs and other kinds of transpersonal or so-called “anomalous” experiences. Well-funded cooperative research initiatives in functional brain imaging are leading to rapid advances that will make it possible in the near future to empirically test the integral model put forward in this chapter yielding more complete understandings of consciousness including NDEs and other kinds of transpersonal or anomalous experiences.

Consciousness in the Universe is Scale Invariant and Implies an Event Horizon of the Human Brain

Our brain is not a "stand alone" information processing organ: it acts as a central part of our integral nervous system with recurrent information exchange with the entire organism and the cosmos. In this study, the brain is conceived to be embedded in a holographic structured field that interacts with resonant sensitive structures in the various cell types in our body. In order to explain earlier reported ultra-rapid brain responses and effective operation of the meta-stable neural system, a field-receptive mental workspace is proposed to be communicating with the brain. Our integral nervous system is seen as a dedicated neural transmission and multi-cavity network that, in a non-dual manner, interacts with the proposed supervening meta-cognitive domain. Among others, it is integrating discrete patterns of eigen-frequencies of photonic/solitonic waves, thereby continuously updating a time-symmetric global memory space of the individual. Its toroidal organization allows the coupling of gravitational, dark energy, zero-point energy field (ZPE) as well as earth magnetic fields energies and transmits wave information into brain tissue, that thereby is instrumental in high speed conscious and sub-conscious information processing. We propose that the supposed field-receptive workspace, in a mutual interaction with the whole nervous system, generates self-consciousness and is conceived as operating from a 4th spatial dimension (hyper-sphere). Its functional structure is adequately defined by the geometry of the torus, that is envisioned as a basic unit (operator) of space-time. The latter is instrumental in collecting the pattern of discrete soliton frequencies that provided an algorithm for coherent life processes, as earlier identified by us. It is postulated that consciousness in the entire universe arises through, scale invariant, nested toroidal coupling of various energy fields, that may include quantum error correction. In the brain of the human species, this takes the form of the proposed holographic workspace, that collects active information in a "brain event horizon", representing an internal and fully integral model of the self. This brain-supervening workspace is equipped to convert integrated coherent wave energies into attractor type/standing waves that guide the related cortical template to a higher coordination of reflection and action as well as network synchronicity, as required for conscious states. In relation to its scale-invariant global character, we find support for a universal information matrix, that was extensively described earlier, as a supposed implicate order as well as in a spectrum of space-time theories in current physics. The presence of a field-receptive resonant workspace, associated with, but not reducible to, our brain, may provide an interpretation framework for widely reported, but poorly understood transpersonal conscious states and algorithmic origin of life. It also points out the deep connection of mankind with the cosmos and our major responsibility for the future of our planet.</p
