    This article describes an unconference session at the most recent Association of Christian Librarians Annual Conference 2017. The session attendees worked together to produce sample lesson plans, using the “backwards design planning structure” introduced by Wiggins & McTighe in Understanding by Design. Conference attendees produced information literacy lesson plans to introduce freshman college students to five of the ACRL Framework concept

    Due to the rise of new educational methods, one may begin to wonder, what is the best way to learn information? Can these new methods truly replace traditional methods? This experiment evaluated the effectiveness of an infographic to a text based on amount of information retained and personal preference. This study also examines if professional status has an effect on information retention. In order to answer these questions, subjects were given a copy of an infographic and a journal article covering the same information. The subjects were then given 5 minutes to look over both materials and to answer four comprehensive questions. After completing this portion, the subjects were then asked to complete a survey analyzing the effectiveness of the methods and their personal preferences. The results yielded that an infographic is a better than a journal article for distributing information to both students and extension personnel

    The development of current technology makes the flow of information is speeding up. Nowadays, people have a dependency on using social media leaning to increase. Most people utilize social media for communication, socialization, or just lifestyle. From the internet, we can get everything, start from information about the recipes to personal information about someone. This is possible because a lot of people want to share personal information on social media. All easiness which obtained from social media surely helps activity in our life. It has benefited and also has a disadvantage, if we ex-ploit it excessively one of the negative effects, we can receive is a personality disorder. Most people do not recognize this negative effect from social media utilize if we ignore this personality disorder, it can directly impact teen mental develop-ment. Therefore, it needs media that can inform recognize the initial stage of personality disorder that causes by social media exploitation. The qualitative methods were used in this study, whereas the collection of data is done through observation, interview, and literature study. The outcome data processing made into a reference for displaying information content on personality disorders. Communication design theory, visual communication design, infographics, illustrations, colors, typography, and layouts are the basis for infographic media design. Infographic visualization as visual communication media can deliver the information that is able to be accessed by the teen.     Teaching Health Impact and Behavior with Infographics

    The use of Infographics can be a tool that not only allows for the communication of empirical health data in an understandable format, but encourages the health administration student to present evidence-based research in a creative manner. The purpose of this paper is to describe a learning exercise that implements Infographics to demonstrate an impact of a health issue and/or encourage a health behavior change. This learning exercise is developed to increase student knowledge and visual literacy skills with respect to presenting, in a concise format, a well-researched and referenced health issue and/or a health behavior change. Specifically, the exercise was designed to: (a) curate health statistics and reference information for the selected health issue; (b) identify media resources and apply copyright and fair use in a proper manner; (c) evaluate internet resources for credibility and accuracy; and (d) utilize Infographic tools to communicate one\u27s visual viewpoint. At the conclusion of the course, students reflected on the effective visual aspects of their Infographics and the points that were challenging to communicate using this medium. The benefits of this applied learning approach for students and the faculty instructor are discussed
