Lifting dual tree complex wavelets transform

We describe the lifting dual tree complex wavelet transform (LDTCWT), a type of lifting wavelets remodeling that produce complex coefficients by employing a dual tree of lifting wavelets filters to get its real part and imaginary part. Permits the remodel to produce approximate shift invariance, directionally selective filters and reduces the computation time (properties lacking within the classical wavelets transform). We describe a way to estimate the accuracy of this approximation and style appropriate filters to attain this. These benefits are often exploited among applications like denoising, segmentation, image fusion and compression. The results of applications shrinkage denoising demonstrate objective and subjective enhancements over the dual tree complex wavelet transform (DTCWT). The results of the shrinkage denoising example application indicate empirical and subjective enhancements over the DTCWT. The new transform with the DTCWT provide a trade-off between denoising computational competence of performance, and memory necessities. We tend to use the PSNR (peak signal to noise ratio) alongside the structural similarity index measure (SSIM) and the SSIM map to estimate denoised image quality

    Visual attention-based image watermarking

Imperceptibility and robustness are two complementary but fundamental requirements of any watermarking algorithm. Low strength watermarking yields high imperceptibility but exhibits poor robustness. High strength watermarking schemes achieve good robustness but often infuse distortions resulting in poor visual quality in host media. If distortion due to high strength watermarking can avoid visually attentive regions, such distortions are unlikely to be noticeable to any viewer. In this paper, we exploit this concept and propose a novel visual attention-based highly robust image watermarking methodology by embedding lower and higher strength watermarks in visually salient and non-salient regions, respectively. A new low complexity wavelet domain visual attention model is proposed that allows us to design new robust watermarking algorithms. The proposed new saliency model outperforms the state-of-the-art method in joint saliency detection and low computational complexity performances. In evaluating watermarking performances, the proposed blind and non-blind algorithms exhibit increased robustness to various natural image processing and filtering attacks with minimal or no effect on image quality, as verified by both subjective and objective visual quality evaluation. Up to 25% and 40% improvement against JPEG2000 compression and common filtering attacks, respectively, are reported against the existing algorithms that do not use a visual attention model

With the decline in military spending, the United States relies heavily on state side support. Communications has never been more important. High-quality audio and video capabilities are a must. Watermarking, traditionally used for copyright protection, is used in a new and exciting way. An efficient wavelet-based watermarking technique embeds audio information into a video signal. Several highly effective compression techniques are applied to compress the resulting audio/video signal in an embedded fashion. This wavelet-based compression algorithm incorporates bit plane coding, first difference coding, and Huffman coding. To demonstrate the potential of this audio embedding audio/video compression system, an audio signal is embedded into a video signal and the combined signal is compressed. Results show that overall compression rates of 15:1 can be achieved. The video signal is reconstructed with a median PSNR of nearly 33dB. Finally, the audio signal is extracted with out error

For making sure that the multimedia information is not accessed or modified by unauthorized users, several digital techniques have been proposed as per the growth of internet applications. However, the most commonly used technique is the watermarking technique. The spatial domain method and frequency domain method are the two broader categorizations of several watermarking techniques proposed over the time. The lower order bits of cover image are improved for embedding a watermark through the spatial domain technique. Minimizing the complexity and including minimum computational values are the major benefits achieved through this technique. However, in the presence of particular security attacks, the robustness of this technique is very high. Further, the techniques that use some invertible transformations such as Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) are known as the frequency domain transform techniques. The image is hosted by applying Discrete Fourier transforms (DFT) and Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) techniques. The coefficient value of these transforms is modified as per the watermark for embedding the watermark within the image easily. Further, on the original image, the inverse transform is applied. The complexity of these techniques is very high. Also, the computational power required here is high. The security attacks are provided with more reverts through these methods. GLCM (Gray Level Co Occurrence Matrix) technique is better approach compare with other approach. In this work, GLCM (Gray Level Co Occurrence Matrix) and PCA (Principal Component Analysis) algorithms are used to improve the work capability of the neural networks by using watermarking techniques. PCA selects the extracted images and GLCM is used to choose the features extracted from the original image. The output of the PCA algorithm is defined by using scaling factor which is further used in the implementation. In this work, the proposed algorithm performs well in terms of PSNR (Peak Signal to Noise Ratio), MSE (Mean Squared Error), and Correlation Coefficient values. The proposed methods values are better from the previous work

Data hiding in multimedia - theory and applications

Multimedia data hiding or steganography is a means of communication using subliminal channels. The resource for the subliminal communication scheme is the distortion of the original content that can be tolerated. This thesis addresses two main issues of steganographic communication schemes: 1. How does one maximize the distortion introduced without affecting fidelity of the content? 2. How does one efficiently utilize the resource (the distortion introduced) for communicating as many bits of information as possible? In other words, what is a good signaling strategy for the subliminal communication scheme? Close to optimal solutions for both issues are analyzed. Many techniques for the issue for maximizing the resource, viz, the distortion introduced imperceptibly in images and video frames, are proposed. Different signaling strategies for steganographic communication are explored, and a novel signaling technique employing a floating signal constellation is proposed. Algorithms for optimal choices of the parameters of the signaling technique are presented. Other application specific issues like the type of robustness needed are taken into consideration along with the established theoretical background to design optimal data hiding schemes. In particular, two very important applications of data hiding are addressed - data hiding for multimedia content delivery, and data hiding for watermarking (for proving ownership). A robust watermarking protocol for unambiguous resolution of ownership is proposed
