Administration of Long-Acting Injections
Expanding the scope of pharmacy practice demonstrates that the profession has been successful at improving public health. Despite being a late adopter, New York\u27s limited experience with vaccines has improved immunization rates and lowered rates of disease. During emergencies, the 2017-2018 flu season for example, the state has turned to pharmacists to go beyond what the pharmacy practice law permits, in this case enabling immunizations in pediatric patients.1 This illustrates recognition of untapped potential within the profession to contribute to the public health. Another opportunity for pharmacists to enhance the public health is embodied in a Bill introduced in the New York State Legislature that would amend the pharmacy practice law to enable administration of long-acting injectables designed to treat mental health disorders including schizophrenia and substance use disorder ( SUD ). The goal of this paper is to review the proposed amendment, the relevant background, and to discuss the implications for patients and the pharmacy profession

RAM$mart Financial Wellness for Health Profession Students
College students today are graduating with more debt than ever before. As such, it is critical that our graduates are equipped with the right skills and frame of mind to manage their finances. This includes understanding their income, taxes, and expenses; managing debt; budgeting; saving; and retirement planning. Money management can be intimidating for anyone, regardless of background or education. While online resources are made available to our students, these resources are often overlooked, and do not necessarily set out to engage students or address the issues they may face in a convincing or compelling way. Most of the financial resources easily accessible on the web and on VCU’s sites are intended for undergraduate students. However, graduate students and in particular students in the health sciences professional programs (medicine, dentistry, pharmacy) can accrue a tremendous amount of debt, but are not exposed to as many mandatory or voluntary budgeting and financial resources. The RAMmart Financial Wellness Program will include modules on a variety of money management topics designed to get the attention of students and to provide them with practical steps they can take at the beginning of, and throughout, their graduate professional education to minimize debt accumulation. There will also be modules designed to inform students of various loan payback options upon their degree completion, and of available community and online financial resources. Through attention-grabbing and entertaining modules, including such things as humorous video snippets and interactive questions, students’ awareness of budgeting and financial responsibility will increase significantly

Results: Paramedics had practiced inter-health professional collaboration. However, inter-health professional communication remained a point of concern due to some hospital internal problem. Paramedics at the medical record unit had worked according to the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). Overall, patients were satisfied with the collaboration process. However, paramedics in the inpatient unit had not comply with the clinical pathway. The pharmacy and the nutrition units were under-staffed.
Conclusion: The collaboration process has not been fully implemented due to some hospital internal problem. However, overall the patients are satisfied with the inter-health professional collaboration. Paramedics have not implemented clinical pathway, which may lead to in-effective service and some losses to hospital.

Using a Mixed Methods Approach to Explore Perceptions of Early Learners in Classroom-Based Interprofessional Education Experiences
Background:
- Interprofessional education (IPE) is a global imperative
- Health profession education programs, motivated by accreditation requirements, have added IPE activities into their required curricula.
- Curriculum development varies considerably across institutions and debate exists regarding appropriate timing for introducing learners to IPE in order to optimally improve health outcomes.
- Some evidence shows benefit of early learner IPE in professional identity development, interprofessional socialization and positive attitude development toward interprofessional practice.
- At Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), IPE is integrated longitudinally through the curriculum for several of the health professions programs via IPEC courses
Agricultural Health and Safety: A Research Agenda for Agricultural Economists
Replaced with revised version of paper 01/26/06.Health Economics and Policy, Teaching/Communication/Extension/Profession,
Can a profession exist without research?
Radiography combines science, technology and patient care to provide an essential role in medical diagnosis and treatment. The term ‘profession’ has existed in the Oxford English Dictionary from the 15th century and argues that a profession is an occupation where professional knowledge is applied by someone who has undertaken prolonged training and obtained a formal qualification (Oxford English Dictionary Online; 2007). For most of history, professions have based their practices on expertise derived from experience passed down in the form of tradition. Even in health care, many practices have still not been justified by evidence and as such there are areas of uncertainty.peer-reviewe
