Os novos compósitos bioativos na prevenção de cárie em odontopediatria: revisão narrativa

Em odontopediatria, estamos constantemente à procura de materiais restauradores que sejam mais adequados para crianças. Os compósitos revolucionaram as restaurações em termos de estética, mas não consegue, responder aos desafios cariogénicos do ambiente oral. Assim, a utilização de compósitos bioativos, com propriedades remineralizantes e antibacterianas pode impedir o aparecimento de lesões de cárie. O objetivo da presente revisão foi estudar as propriedades bioativas e mecânicas dos novos compósitos bioativos: Giómeros, Activa™ Bioactive Restaurative e Cention® Na prevenção de cárie, comparativamente com outros materiais de restauração frequentemente usados em Odontopediatria. Foi realizada uma pesquisa bibliográfica em diferentes bases de dados e foram incluídos 57 artigos com texto completo disponível com interesse académico para realizar esta revisão.In pediatric dentistry, we are constanly looking for restorative materials that are more suitable for children. Composites have revolutionised restoration in terms of aesthetics, offering a good alternative to amalgams, but they cannot meet the cariogenic challenges of the oral environment. Thus, the use of bioactive composites with remineralising and antibacterial properties can prevent the appearance of caries. The aim of our study is to study the bioactive and mechanical properties of the new bioactive composites Giomers, Activa™ Bioactive Restorative and Cention ® N in caries prevention, in relation to other rest oration materials used in pediatric dentistry.
