A Hybrid Digital Watermarking Approach Using Wavelets and LSB

    Get PDF
The present paper proposed a novel approach called Wavelet based Least Significant Bit Watermarking (WLSBWM) for high authentication, security and copyright protection. Alphabet Pattern (AP) approach is used to generate shuffled image in the first stage and Pell’s Cat Map (PCM) is used for providing more security and strong protection from attacks. PCM applied on each 5×5 sub images. A wavelet concept is used to reduce the dimensionality of the image until it equals to the size of the watermark image. Discrete Cosign Transform is applied in the first stage; later N level Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) is applied for reducing up to the size of the watermark image. The water mark image is inserted in LHn Sub band of the wavelet image using LSB concept. Simulation results show that the proposed technique produces better PSNR and similarity measure. The experimental results indicate that the present approach is more reliable and secure efficient. The robustness of the proposed scheme is evaluated against various image-processing attacks

A Robust Image Hashing Algorithm Resistant Against Geometrical Attacks

This paper proposes a robust image hashing method which is robust against common image processing attacks and geometric distortion attacks. In order to resist against geometric attacks, the log-polar mapping (LPM) and contourlet transform are employed to obtain the low frequency sub-band image. Then the sub-band image is divided into some non-overlapping blocks, and low and middle frequency coefficients are selected from each block after discrete cosine transform. The singular value decomposition (SVD) is applied in each block to obtain the first digit of the maximum singular value. Finally, the features are scrambled and quantized as the safe hash bits. Experimental results show that the algorithm is not only resistant against common image processing attacks and geometric distortion attacks, but also discriminative to content changes

A Survey on Recent Reversible Watermarking Techniques

Watermarking is a technique to protect the copyright of digital media such as image, text, music and movie. Reversible watermarking is a technique in which watermark can be removed to completely restore the original image. Reversible watermarking of digital content allows full extraction of the watermark along with the complete restoration of the original image. For the last few years, reversible watermarking techniques are gaining popularity due to its applications in important and sensitive areas like military communication, healthcare, and law-enforcement. Due to the rapid evolution of reversible watermarking techniques, a latest review of recent research in this field is highly desirable. In this survey, the performances of different latest reversible watermarking techniques are discussed on the basis of various characteristics of watermarking

In the field of digital watermarking, digital image watermarking for copyright protection has attracted a lot of attention in the research community. Digital watermarking contains varies techniques for protecting the digital content. Among all those techniques,Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) provides higher image imperceptibility and robustness. Over the years, researchers have been designing watermarking techniques with robustness in mind, in order for the watermark to be resistant against any image processing techniques. Furthermore, the requirements of a good watermarking technique includes a tradeoff between robustness, image quality (imperceptibility) and capacity. In this paper, we have done an extensive literature review for the existing DWT techniques and those combined with other techniques such as Neural Networks. In addition to that, we have discuss the contribution of Neural Networks in copyright protection. Finally we reached our goal in which we identified the research gaps existed in the current watermarking schemes. So that, it will be easily to obtain an optimal techniques to make the watermark object robust to attacks while maintaining the imperceptibility to enhance the copyright protection

A Novel DWT-Based Watermarking for Image with The SIFT

    Get PDF
A kind of scale invariant features transformation (SIFT for short) operators on DWT domain are proposed for watermarking algorithm. Firstly, the low frequency of the image is obtained by DWT. And then the SIFT transformation is used to calculate the key feature points for the low frequency sub-image. Based on the chosen space’s key points with moderate scale, a circular area as watermark embedding area is constructed. According to the research and final results, the novel digital watermark algorithm is proposed benefiting from the characteristics of SIFT’s key points and local time-frequency of DWT. The algorithm not only has good robustness to resist on such operations as compression, shearing, noise addition, median filtering and scaling, but also has good inhibition to possible watermark fake verification

In order to reduce the block effects in the dark regions and improve the flicker in the bright regions of the existing video watermark algorithms, we propose an improved video watermarking algorithm against camcorder recording based on DWT-SVD. In proposed algorithm, 3th level Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) is applied to Y luminance of every single frame, and Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) is used on sub-band of DWT. Watermark sequence is embedded by fine-tuning the singular value of consecutive frames. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is robust against many different attacks such as geometric attack, signal processing and camcorder recording. Moreover, the proposed scheme can reduce the blocks effect and improve the flicker by embedding watermark into edge feature of video frame. Although, the method can provide high video quality than the existing schemes, however, it is not robust to strong compression such as MPEG

Watermarking, which belong to the information hiding field, has seen a lot of research interest recently. There is a lot of work begin conducted in different branches in this field. Steganography is used for secret conmunication, whereas watermarking is used for content protection, copyright management, content authentication and tamper detection. In this paper we present a detailed survey of existing and newly proposed steganographic and watenmarking techniques. We classify the techniques based on different domains in which data is embedded. Here we limit the survey to images only
