In questo articolo si presenta l'analisi di un adattamento spagnolo di \u201cLe avventure di Pinocchio\u201d, realizzato negli anni '40 dall\u2019illustratore Salvador Mestres per la casa editrice Bruguera di Barcellona. L'analisi inizia con una revisione delle traduzioni e adattamenti spagnoli dell\u2019opera, segue con la presentazione della figura di Mestres e si conclude con l'analisi della sua versione: si identificano i cambiamenti nella macrostruttura del testo originale; si stabiliscono i parallelismi e differenze con la versione originale e la versione cinematografica della Disney; e si analizzano i processi di adattamento alla lingua e alla cultura di arrivo

As Aventuras de Pinóquio: representações dos estudantes universitários.

A presença de clássicos da Literatura para a Infância e a Juventude tem sido sempre uma constante nos documentos orientadores/listas de livros mais recentes que se destinam à comunidade educativa em geral, nomeadamente nas listas do Plano Nacional de Leitura. O estudo que agora apresentamos foi então suscitado por dois fatores muito próximos. Em primeiro lugar, pelo facto de termos estudantes em Prática de Ensino Supervisionada numa turma do 3.º ano de escolaridade, cuja obra As Aventuras de Pinóquio tinha sido selecionada para a leitura no domínio da Educação Literária; por outro lado, e decorrente do fator anterior, pelo nosso interesse em perceber o que conheciam os nossos alunos do ensino superior sobre Pinóquio

Large gap quantum spin Hall insulator, massless Dirac fermions and bilayer graphene analogue in InAs/Ga(In)Sb heterostructures

The quantum spin Hall insulator (QSHI) state has been demonstrated in two semiconductor systems - HgTe/CdTe quantum wells (QWs) and InAs/GaSb QW bilayers. Unlike the HgTe/CdTe QWs, the inverted band gap in InAs/GaSb QW bilayers does not open at the $\Gamma$ point of the Brillouin zone, preventing the realization of massless Dirac fermions. Here, we propose a new class of semiconductor systems based on InAs/Ga(In)Sb multilayers, hosting a QSHI state, a graphene-like phase and a bilayer graphene analogue, depending on their layer thicknesses and geometry. The QSHI gap in the novel structures can reach up to 60 meV for realistic design and parameters. This value is twice as high as the thermal energy at room temperature and significantly extends the application potential of III-V semiconductor-based topological devices.Comment: 5 pages, 4 figure

Iniciação e imaginário educacional n’As aventuras de Pinóquio

A iniciação, enquanto modelo protótipo, é inerente à condição humana pontuada por uma sequência ininterrupta de “provas”, de “mortes” e de “ressurreições”, fazendo emergir o tema da “morte iniciática” que permite ao neófito aceder a uma vida espiritual superior – aquela em que é possível a participação no sagrado” (Eliade, 1976: 38). Assim sendo, vamos encontrar o tema da iniciação em muitos dos contos de Charles Perrault, de Hans Christian Andersen, dos Irmãos Grimm, de Lewis Carroll, de Carlo Collodi, entre outros. É igualmente recorrente nas lendas, como a do rei Artur e dos Cavaleiros da Távola Redonda. É na perspectiva de Mircea Eliade que nos colocamos para tratar do tema da iniciação, ilustrando-a n‟As Aventuras de Pinóquio que, como salienta Italo Calvino (2004: 212-214), pode ser objecto de múltiplas interpretações e, obviamente, de interpretações complementares que só enriquecem o sentido instaurador do respectivo conto (Gabriele, 1981: 43-46; Todini, 1981: 53-58; Grassi, 1981: 71-92)1. Neste contexto, começamos por apresentar o sentido eliadiano do ritual iniciático e, depois, procedemos à hermenêutica de uma passagem significativa do conto de Aventuras de Pinóquio de Carlo Collodi – a passagem do tubarão2 – para melhor percebermos como neste conto o ritual iniciático se concretiza e interpela o imaginário educacional. Por último, desenvolvemos o significado da iniciação no quadro do imaginário educacional, recenseando-o como renovação espiritual, como eufemização e superação da morte e como reencontro do homem consigo mesmo

Initiation and imaginary in educational adventures of Pinocchio

Este artigo faz parte de uma investigação realizada no âmbito do Projecto Educação e Imaginário inscrito no Centro de Investigação em Educação (CIEd) do Instituto de Educação da Universidade do Minho (Braga), retoma algumas das contribuições trabalhadas em comunicações anteriores apresentadas em eventos científicos. Inscreve-se no paradigma metodológico da hermenêutica reflexiva e debruça-se sobre o tema do ritual iniciático, um tema recorrente em muitos dos contos e lendas. Retoma a perspectiva de Mircea Eliade e ilustra o tema da iniciação n’As Aventuras de Pinóquio, obra que tem sido objeto de múltiplas interpretações e, obviamente, de interpretações complementares que só enriquecem o sentido instaurador do respectivo conto. Procede ainda à hermenêutica da passagem significativa do tubarão e evidencia como neste conto o ritual iniciático se concretiza e interpela o imaginário educacional. Por último, desenvolve o significado da iniciação no quadro do imaginário educacional, caracterizando-o como renovação espiritual, como eufemização e superação da morte e como reencontro do homem consigo mesmo.This article is part of a research carried out under the Education and Imaginary Project enrolled in the Centre for Research in Education (CIEd) from the Institute of Education at University of Minho (Braga) takes up some of the contributions worked in earlier papers presented at scientific meetings. Is based on the hermeneutic methodological paradigm. It focuses on the theme of the initial ritual, a recurrent subject in many stories and tales. The theoretical framework used from Mircea Eliade allows the comprehension of the theme of initiation in The Adventures of Pinocchio. This work has been the object of several interpretations and obviously complementary interpretations enrich the creative meaning of the referred tale. The article stresses the hermeneutics of significant transition of the shark and shows how in this tale the initial ritual is achieved and questions the educational imaginary. At last, this debate stresses the meaning of initiation in the frame of the educational imaginary, by its characterization as spiritual renovation, euphemistic interpretation and overcoming of death as well as the re-encountering of Man with himself

Temperature-dependent magnetospectroscopy of HgTe quantum wells

We report on magnetospectroscopy of HgTe quantum wells in magnetic fields up to 45 T in temperature range from 4.2 K up to 185 K. We observe intra- and inter-band transitions from zero-mode Landau levels, which split from the bottom conduction and upper valence subbands, and merge under the applied magnetic field. To describe experimental results, realistic temperature-dependent calculations of Landau levels have been performed. We show that although our samples are topological insulators at low temperatures only, the signature of such phase persists in optical transitions at high temperatures and high magnetic fields. Our results demonstrate that temperature-dependent magnetospectroscopy is a powerful tool to discriminate trivial and topological insulator phases in HgTe quantum wells

Towards a Collision-Free WLAN: Dynamic Parameter Adjustment in CSMA/E2CA

Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Enhanced Collision Avoidance (CSMA/ECA) is a distributed MAC protocol that allows collision-free access to the medium in WLAN. The only difference between CSMA/ECA and the well-known CSMA/CA is that the former uses a deterministic backoff after successful transmissions. Collision-free operation is reached after a transient state during which some collisions may occur. This article shows that the duration of the transient state can be shortened by appropriately setting the contention parameters. Standard absorbing Markov Chain theory can be used to describe the behaviour of the system in the transient state and to predict the expected number of slots to reach the collision-free operation. The article also introduces CSMA/E2CA, in which a deterministic backoff is used two consecutive times after a successful transmission. CSMA/E2CA converges quicker to collision-free operation and delivers higher performance than CSMA/CA in harsh wireless scenarios with high frame error rates. To achieve collision-free operations when the number of contenders is large, it may be necessary to dynamically adjust the contention parameter. The last part of the article suggests an approach for such parameter adjustment which is validated by simulation results
