“Digital Watermarking of Medical Images Using The Gabor Transform”

Nowadays, there is an ongoing necessity of using digital watermarking techniques in order to protect medical data. In this work we present the way that a Gabor transform domain watermarking technique, which has been used in cases of grayscale and RGB images, can be applied in the medical field. In our experiments we tried to find the right combination between the increase of the robustness of the watermark and the reduction of the visual distortion of the medical image. We present the results of the experiments, which prove this technique quite suitable for use in medical imaging applications
