Creating a Preservation Environment for Renaissance Limoges Enamels
The Frick Collection seeks support for the renovation of two of its historic display cases in order to create a suitable environment for the collection of forty-six Renaissance Limoges enamels that are normally housed in them. The enamels collection is considered one of the most important such collections in the world. Recent studies of the conditions within the cases, however, revealed that the enamels were exposed to high fluctuations in temperature and humidity. Because the cases are considered a significant part of the museum's historic interior, the Frick proposes modifying the cases such that the enamels can be safely kept there, but without significantly altering the cases' original design. Specifically, the plan will create a sealed and buffered space within the original cases to protect the enamels from exterior environmental fluctuations, while at the same time preserving the cases' historic facades
Plesippus francescana (Frick) from the late Pliocene, Coso Mountains, California, with a review of the genus Plesippus
Two mammalian types, occurring in a late Pliocene fauna from the Coso Mountains, California, have already been described. Among the more abundant forms in this assemblage are the horses of the genus Plesippus. These are of particular interest not only for purposes of correlation of the geologic horizon in which they occur, but also because of their phylogenetic relationships. Opportunity is taken therefore to make a comparative study of characters of the species from the Coso Mountains with reference to nearly related forms found in beds of similar age and to define more clearly, than has been previously attempted, the position of Plesippus in the lineage of the horse group
Results of the EISfOM project investigation into the current situation of data collection and processing
Conclusion
- Currently few public data collection and processing systems on an international level exist with regard to the organic agriculture and food sector (however FAO, EUROSTAT, IFOAM have startes activities).
- Less activities aree run to harmonise national organic data collection systems on an international level.
- Investment decisions of market actors and support decisions of policy makers are taken under conditions of great uncertainty.
- Organic data know-how in most countries concentrated on less and private minds.
- Public demand for organic data presently often are just statements and action plan points to support organic farming in theory.
- Partly the link is missing between political objectives (on national and international level) and realisation by statistic authorities.
- The EU-project European Inforamtion Systems for Organic Markets will assist all national and international efforts to improve organic data collecting in next two years

Organic Farming and Market Development in Europe and the European Union
In this chapter, the 2016 data on the organic sector in Europe and the European Union are summarized.
The development of the European and the European Union’s organic sector in 2016 was characterized by two trends. On the one hand, the market showed a double-digit growth rate again (11.4 percent in Europe; 12 percent in the European Union). On the other hand, organic farmland growth continued to be slower than that of the market, but it was considerably faster than in the previous years, increasing by 6.7 percent in Europe and 8.2 percent in the European Union. The trend of the market growing at a faster rate than the area (Figure 68) has been occurring for several years, showing that production is still not keeping pace with consumer demand

Organic in Europe: Recent Developments
In 2017, the European organic food and farming sector continued to excel both in terms of organic production and market growth. Data for 2017 (for full data see page 216) shows the European organic food market recording significant growth – increasing by more than ten percent to 37.3 billion. At the same time, the organic sector faces a number of challenges, notably that the growth rates in organic area, in spite of recent stronger growth, continues to lag behind the dynamic growth seen within the organic food market (Figure 68). A major milestone in 2018 was the publication of the new European Union rules on organic production and labelling of organic products in May, and in June 2018, the European Commission launched its proposal for the Common Agricultural Policy for the period 2021 to 2027
