Compressed Sensing Based Direct Conversion Receiver With Interference Reducing Sampling
This paper describes a direct conversion receiver applying compressed sensing
with the objective to relax the analog filtering requirements seen in the
traditional architecture. The analog filter is cumbersome in an \gls{IC} design
and relaxing its requirements is an advantage in terms of die area, performance
and robustness of the receiver. The objective is met by a selection of sampling
pattern matched to the prior knowledge of the frequency placement of the
desired and interfering signals. A simple numerical example demonstrates the
principle. The work is part of an ongoing research effort and the different
project phases are explained.Comment: 3 pages, 5 figures, submitted to IEEE International Conference On

Wireless Interference Identification with Convolutional Neural Networks
The steadily growing use of license-free frequency bands requires reliable
coexistence management for deterministic medium utilization. For interference
mitigation, proper wireless interference identification (WII) is essential. In
this work we propose the first WII approach based upon deep convolutional
neural networks (CNNs). The CNN naively learns its features through
self-optimization during an extensive data-driven GPU-based training process.
We propose a CNN example which is based upon sensing snapshots with a limited
duration of 12.8 {\mu}s and an acquisition bandwidth of 10 MHz. The CNN differs
between 15 classes. They represent packet transmissions of IEEE 802.11 b/g,
IEEE 802.15.4 and IEEE 802.15.1 with overlapping frequency channels within the
2.4 GHz ISM band. We show that the CNN outperforms state-of-the-art WII
approaches and has a classification accuracy greater than 95% for
signal-to-noise ratio of at least -5 dB
Compressive sensing based Bayesian sparse channel estimation for OFDM communication systems: high performance and low complexity
In orthogonal frequency division modulation (OFDM) communication systems,
channel state information (CSI) is required at receiver due to the fact that
frequency-selective fading channel leads to disgusting inter-symbol
interference (ISI) over data transmission. Broadband channel model is often
described by very few dominant channel taps and they can be probed by
compressive sensing based sparse channel estimation (SCE) methods, e.g.,
orthogonal matching pursuit algorithm, which can take the advantage of sparse
structure effectively in the channel as for prior information. However, these
developed methods are vulnerable to both noise interference and column
coherence of training signal matrix. In other words, the primary objective of
these conventional methods is to catch the dominant channel taps without a
report of posterior channel uncertainty. To improve the estimation performance,
we proposed a compressive sensing based Bayesian sparse channel estimation
(BSCE) method which can not only exploit the channel sparsity but also mitigate
the unexpected channel uncertainty without scarifying any computational
complexity. The propose method can reveal potential ambiguity among multiple
channel estimators that are ambiguous due to observation noise or correlation
interference among columns in the training matrix. Computer simulations show
that propose method can improve the estimation performance when comparing with
conventional SCE methods.Comment: 24 pages,16 figures, submitted for a journa
A Novel Approach to Wideband Spectrum Compressive Sensing Based on DST for Frequency Availability in LEO Mobile Satellite Systems
In LEO mobile satellite network, the L/S frequency availability is an essential task for global communication but entails several major technical challenges: high sampling rate required for wideband sensing, limited power and computing resources for processing load, and frequency-selective wireless fading. This paper investigates the issue of frequency availability in LEO mobile satellite system, and a novel wideband spectrum compressed signal detection approach is proposed to obtain active primary users (PUs) subbands and their locations that should be avoided during frequency allocation. We define the novel wideband spectrum compressed sensing method based on discrete sine transform (DST-WSCS), which significantly improves the performance of spectrum detection and recovery accuracy compared with conventional discrete Fourier transform based wideband spectrum compressed sensing scheme (DFT-WSCS). Additionally, with the help of intersatellite links (ISL), the scheme of multiple satellites cooperative sensing according to OR and MAJ decision fusion rules is presented to achieve spatial diversity against wireless fading. Finally, in-depth numerical simulations are performed to demonstrate the performance of the proposed scheme in aspect of signal detection probability, reconstruction precision, processing time, and so forth
