The digital watermarking technique embeds meaningful information into one or more watermark images hidden in one image, in which it is known as a secret carrier. It is difficult for a hacker to extract or remove any hidden watermark from an image, and especially to crack so called digital watermark. The combination of digital watermarking technique and traditional image encryption technique is able to greatly improve anti-hacking capability, which suggests it is a good method for keeping the integrity of the original image. The research works contained in this thesis include: (1)A literature review the hyperchaotic watermarking technique is relatively more advantageous, and becomes the main subject in this programme. (2)The theoretical foundation of watermarking technologies, including the human visual system (HVS), the colour space transform, discrete wavelet transform (DWT), the main watermark embedding algorithms, and the mainstream methods for improving watermark robustness and for evaluating watermark embedding performance. (3) The devised hyperchaotic scrambling technique it has been applied to colour image watermark that helps to improve the image encryption and anti-cracking capabilities. The experiments in this research prove the robustness and some other advantages of the invented technique. This thesis focuses on combining the chaotic scrambling and wavelet watermark embedding to achieve a hyperchaotic digital watermark to encrypt digital products, with the human visual system (HVS) and other factors taken into account. This research is of significant importance and has industrial application value

Printed document integrity verification using barcode

    Get PDF
Printed documents are still relevant in our daily life and information in it must be protected from threats and attacks such as forgery, falsification or unauthorized modification. Such threats make the document lose its integrity and authenticity. There are several techniques that have been proposed and used to ensure authenticity and originality of printed documents. But some of the techniques are not suitable for public use due to its complexity, hard to obtain special materials to secure the document and expensive. This paper discuss several techniques for printed document security such as watermarking and barcode as well as the usability of two dimensional barcode in document authentication and data compression with the barcode. A conceptual solution that are simple and efficient to secure the integrity and document sender's authenticity is proposed that uses two dimensional barcode to carry integrity and authenticity information in the document. The information stored in the barcode contains digital signature that provides sender's authenticity and hash value that can ensure the integrity of the printed document

Audio Signal Processing Using Time-Frequency Approaches: Coding, Classification, Fingerprinting, and Watermarking

    Get PDF
Audio signals are information rich nonstationary signals that play an important role in our day-to-day communication, perception of environment, and entertainment. Due to its non-stationary nature, time- or frequency-only approaches are inadequate in analyzing these signals. A joint time-frequency (TF) approach would be a better choice to efficiently process these signals. In this digital era, compression, intelligent indexing for content-based retrieval, classification, and protection of digital audio content are few of the areas that encapsulate a majority of the audio signal processing applications. In this paper, we present a comprehensive array of TF methodologies that successfully address applications in all of the above mentioned areas. A TF-based audio coding scheme with novel psychoacoustics model, music classification, audio classification of environmental sounds, audio fingerprinting, and audio watermarking will be presented to demonstrate the advantages of using time-frequency approaches in analyzing and extracting information from audio signals.</p

Statistical Tools for Digital Image Forensics

A digitally altered image, often leaving no visual clues of having been tampered with, can be indistinguishable from an authentic image. The tampering, however, may disturb some underlying statistical properties of the image. Under this assumption, we propose five techniques that quantify and detect statistical perturbations found in different forms of tampered images: (1) re-sampled images (e.g., scaled or rotated); (2) manipulated color filter array interpolated images; (3) double JPEG compressed images; (4) images with duplicated regions; and (5) images with inconsistent noise patterns. These techniques work in the absence of any embedded watermarks or signatures. For each technique we develop the theoretical foundation, show its effectiveness on credible forgeries, and analyze its sensitivity and robustness to simple counter-attacks

Information Hiding with Data Diffusion Using Convolutional Encoding for Super-Encryption

    Get PDF
The unification of data encryption with information hiding methods continues to receive significant attention because of the importance of protecting encrypted information by making it covert. This is because one of the principal limitations in any cryptographic system is that encrypted data flags the potential importance of the data (i.e. the plaintext information that has been encrypted) possibly leading to the launch of an attack which may or may not be successful. Information hiding overcomes this limitation by making the data (which may be the plaintext or the encrypted plaintext) imperceptible, the security of the hidden information being compromised if and only if its existence is detected. We consider two functions f1(r) and f2(r) for r ∈ R n , n = 1, 2, 3, ... and the problem of ‘Diffusing’ these functions together, applying a process we call ‘Stochastic Diffusion’ to the diffused field and then hiding the output of this process into one of the two functions. The coupling of these two processes using a form of conditioning that generates a well-posed inverse solution yields a super-encrypted field that is dataconsistent. After presenting the basic encryption method and (encrypted) information hiding model coupled with a mathematical analysis (within the context of ‘convolutional encoding’), we provide a case study which is concerned with the implementation of the approach for full-colour 24-bit digital images. The ideas considered yields the foundations for a number of wide-ranging applications that include covert signal and image information interchange, data authentication, copyright protection and digital rights management. In this context, we also provide prototype software using m-code and Python for readers to use, improve upon and develop further for applications of interest

Fast Blind Audio Copy-Move Detection and Localization Using Local Feature Tensors in Noise

The increasing availability of audio editing software altering digital audios and their ease of use allows create forgeries at low cost. A copy-move forgery (CMF) is one of easiest and popular audio forgeries, which created by copying and pasting audio segments within the same audio, and potentially post-processing it. Three main approaches to audio copy-move detection exist nowadays: samples/frames comparison, acoustic features coherence searching and dynamic time warping. But these approaches will suffer from computational complexity and/or sensitive to noise and post-processing. In this paper, we propose a new local feature tensors-based copy-move detection algorithm that can be applied to transformed duplicates detection and localization problem to a special locality sensitive hash like procedure. The experimental results with massive online real-time audios datasets reveal that the proposed technique effectively determines and locating copy-move forgeries even on a forged speech segment are as short as fractional second. This method is also computational efficient and robust against the audios processed with severe nonlinear transformation, such as resampling, filtering, jsittering, compression and cropping, even contaminated with background noise and music. Hence, the proposed technique provides an efficient and reliable way of copy-move forgery detection that increases the credibility of audio in practical forensics application
