Three Kinds of Special Relativity via Inverse Wick Rotation
Since the special relativity can be viewed as the physics in an inverse Wick
rotation of 4-d Euclid space, which is at almost equal footing with the 4-d
Riemann/Lobachevski space, there should be important physics in the inverse
Wick rotation of 4-d Riemann/Lobachevski space. Thus, there are three kinds of
special relativity in de Sitter/Minkowski/anti-de Sitter space at almost equal
footing, respectively. There is an instanton tunnelling scenario in the
Riemann-de Sitter case that may explain why \La be positive and link with the

Footing the Cost (of Normative Subjectivism)
I defend normative subjectivism against the charge that believing in it undermines the functional role of normative judgment. In particular, I defend it against the claim that believing that our reasons change from context to context is problematic for our use of normative judgments. To do so, I distinguish two senses of normative universality and normative reasons---evaluative universality and reasons and ontic universality and reasons. The former captures how even subjectivists can evaluate the actions of those subscribing to other conventions; the latter explicates how their reasons differ from ours. I then show that four aspects of the functional role of normativity---evaluation of our and others actions and reasons, normative communication, hypothetical planning, and evaluating counternromative conditionals---at most requires our normative systems being evaluatively universal. Yet reasonable subjectivist positions need not deny evaluative universality

We show that a simple biophysically based electron-conformational model of
RyR channel is able to explain and describe on equal footing the oscillatory
regime of the heart's cell release unit both in sinoatrial node (pacemaker)
cells under normal physiological conditions and in ventricular myocytes under

Finding footing in a postmodern conception of law
Copyright @ 2010 Pace UniversityThe following jurisprudence paper examines the implications of postmodern thought upon our conception of law. In this paper I argue that, despite the absolute, all-consuming moral relativism towards which postmodernism seems to lead in its most extreme form, its acceptance in fact in no way undermines the possibility of finding solid ground for our legal principles. This paper contends that moral objectivity can be found in the individual experience of suffering generated by these very subjective concoctions. Subjective concoctions or not, they are real in that they imbue a sense of value into conditions, and may thus serve as foundational principles for law. While our value systems are stripped of all claim to objective authority, ultimately, all postmodernism does is force us to set aside our larger concepts of “justice,” and instead root our legal conceptions at this far more fundamental level of human experience

employing a prescription for the infinitesimal propagator that takes riemannian
normal coordinates and momenta on an equal footing. The operator ordering
induced by this prescription leads to the DeWitt curvature coupling in the
