Visualisation of semantic enrichment
Automatically creating semantic enrichments for text may lead to annotations that allow for excellent recall but poor precision. Manual enrichment is potentially more targeted, leading to greater precision. We aim to support nonexperts in manually enriching texts with semantic annotations. Neither the visualisation of semantic enrichment nor the process of manually enriching texts has been evaluated before. This paper presents the results of our user study on visualisation of text enrichment during the annotation process. We performed extensive analysis of work related to the visualisation of semantic annotations. In a prototype implementation, we then explored two layout alternatives for visualising semantic annotations and their linkage to the text atoms. Here we summarise and discuss our results and their design implications for tools creating semantic annotations
Next Edition of IHO S-57 (Edition 4): Much more than ENCs
The primary goal for the next edition of S-57 (Edition 4) is to support a greater variety of hydrographic-related digital data sources, products, and customers. This includes matrix and raster data, 3-D and time-varying data (x, y, z, and time), and new applications that go beyond the scope of traditional hydrography (e.g., high-density bathymetry, seafloor classification, marine GIS). It will also enable the use of web-based services for data discovery, browsing, query, analysis, and transfer. S-57 Edition 4.0 will not be an incremental revision of Edition 3.1. Edition 4 will be a new standard that includes both additional content and a new data exchange format. Due to the world-wide prominence of ISO standards, IHO S-57 will conform to the “ISO way” of standards development. However, alignment with the ISO 19100 series of geographic standards will require a re-structuring of S-57 Edition 4. More specifically, this requires a new framework, and a new (or revised) set of terms used to describe the components of S-57 Edition 4.0. The present intention is to release Edition 4.0 in late 2006. Edition 3.1 will continue to be valid for many years to come -- even after Edition 4.0 has been released. Since most ECDIS equipment use ENC data conforming to the ENC Product Specification contained in S-57 Edition 3.1, Hydrographic Offices should continue to produce Edition 3.1 ENC data in order to continue to improve world-wide ENC coverage. Current plans are to release a new ENC Product Specification approximately one year after publication of S-57 Edition 4.0
Noon Edition
NANNY Martin sprawled against the corner of the building and stared directly into the brilliance of the street light. He felt like crying - the champagne had made him feel like crying, and the little gold statue in his hand made him feel like crying

Email English (2nd Edition) by Paul Emmerson
A thoroughly worthwhile update to a classic book about emailing which retains everything that was right about the first edition while effectively revitalizing its content a decade on from the first edition
Implementation, Compilation, Optimization of Object-Oriented Languages, Programs and Systems - Report on the Workshop ICOOOLPS'2006 at ECOOP'06
ICOOOLPS'2006 was the first edition of ECOOP-ICOOOLPS workshop. It intended
to bring researchers and practitioners both from academia and industry
together, with a spirit of openness, to try and identify and begin to address
the numerous and very varied issues of optimization. This succeeded, as can be
seen from the papers, the attendance and the liveliness of the discussions that
took place during and after the workshop, not to mention a few new cooperations
or postdoctoral contracts. The 22 talented people from different groups who
participated were unanimous to appreciate this first edition and recommend that
ICOOOLPS be continued next year. A community is thus beginning to form, and
should be reinforced by a second edition next year, with all the improvements
this first edition made emerge.Comment: The original publication is available at http://www.springerlink.co
Tracking The Trends: Edmonton's Increasing Diversity
Tracking The Trends: Edmonton's Increasing Diversity provides a comprehensive picture of many aspects of Edmonton's social well-being. This 11th edition of Tracking the Trends presents a number of new social and economic data variables in addition to updates on the trends featured in the 10th edition released in 2009.This edition of Tracking the Trends features a special section on Edmonton's increasing diversity. Edmonton is becoming a more diverse city in terms of religion, race and ethnic origin. These trends have important implications for Edmonton's future, offering both opportunities and challenges. This edition also includes an updated Social Health Index. The intent of this index is to provide a rough measure of the overall social health of Edmonton, and how it has changed over time.Presented together, these trends give us a clearer picture of the social changes taking place in Edmonton. They also offer a broad understanding of the segments of the population which are disadvantaged or marginalized
Introduction to the Special Issue on the Psychodynamic Diagnostic Manual, 2nd edition (PDM-2). The PDM. Yesterday, today, tomorrow
In this introductory essay, we review the development of the second edition of the Psychodynamic Diagnostic Manual. We place the first edition in historical context and note the main responses and critiques of professional colleagues to its publication. We then outline the developing process of this second, comprehensively revised edition. Finally, we preview the contributions to this Special Issue. Overall, we emphasize the Psychodynamic Diagnostic Manual's innovative diagnostic framework, designed to assess the depth as well as the surface of patients' emotional, cognitive, interpersonal, and social patterns and to foster in the field an integration between nomothetic understanding and the idiographic knowledge useful for case formulation and treatment plannin
