Effect of Thiols for Nitrogen Reduction to Ammonia

    Get PDF
Ammonia is an important chemical used for fertilizers and also a potential carbon-free hydrogen storage medium. The Haber-Bosch process is the main production process, which requires large energy- and capital-input. Therefore, it is crucial to develop an alternate scalable synthesis that provides a less energy intensive and more economical route for synthetic ammonia production. In this paper, a 1Fe1Ni film was functionalized with C3OH and C6OH for the electrochemical synthesis of ammonia. This work will provide some insight into how thiol ligands can increase the selectivity of the catalyst for nitrogen reduction reaction and can be improved on to provide a new synthesis for ammonia

The agriculture potential output is influenced by several factors. Some of them are general, centered on economic and financial leverages; others are more specific, focusing on natural disasters vector results. Yet all of them can generate local microclimate and environmental changes that reflect on economical dimension of agricultural exploitations or areas. Our study is based on analysis, synthesis and data processing from specific areas of Bacau County and aims to provide social rehabilitation and economical integration support decision suggestions.disadvantaged areas, rational exploitation, ecological products, anti-erosion measures, cultivation specific system

Alkoxy- and hydroxycyclization of enynes catalyzed by Pd(II) and Pt(II) catalysts

    Get PDF
The development of a novel reaction ideal in terms of atom economy was achieved. The scope of the reaction was evaluated in the presence of Pd and Pt catalysts. The first enantioselective Pt-promoted enyne carboalkoxycyclization was developed in up to 85 % stereoselectivity. This ideal atom-economical reaction afforded the corresponding functionalized five-membered carbo- and heterocycles in good to excellent yields. The use of silver salts combined with (R)-Ph-BINEPINE, a monophosphane atropisomeric ligand, was found to be the best-suited combination for moderate to high enantioselectivities on carbonated and nitrogenated substrates

A Green Chemical Approach for the Synthesis of Gold Nanoparticles: Characterization and Mechanistic Aspect

    Get PDF
This IRCSET-EMPOWER (Irish Research Council for Science, Engineering and Technology Postdoctoral Research Grant) project aims to improve current methodology for the synthesis of metal nanoparticles (NPs). The development of efficient methodology for metal nanomaterials synthesis is an economical and environmental challenge. While the current methods for NPs synthesis are often energy-intensive and involve toxic chemicals, NPs biosynthesis can be carried on at circumneutral pH and mild temperature, resulting in low cost and environmental impact. Nanomaterial biosynthesis has been already observed in magnetotactic bacteria, diatoms, and S-layer bacteria, however, controlled NPs biosynthesis is a relatively new area of research with considerable potential for development. A thorough understanding of the biochemical mechanism involved in NPs biosynthesis is needed, before biosynthetic methods can be economically competitive. The analysis and identification of active species in the nucleation and growth of metal NPs is a daunting task, due to the complexity of the microbial system. This project work focuses on the controlled biosynthesis of gold NPs by fungal microorganisms and aims to determine the biochemical mechanism involved in nucleation and growth of the particles

Diagnosis and Instrument of the Financial Analysis

Considering the general point of view, the concept of diagnosis has assumed the identification of disfunctionalities specific to its activities, as well as the analysis of facts and responsibilities, identification of causes and measurements that have to lead towards the improvement of the economical-financial situation.Of the same mind, other specialists in the field have been aware of this, and whom opinion is summarized to the fact that analysis of a diagnosis has assumed the localization of symptoms, of disfunctionalities related to a company, the research and analysis of facts and responsibilities, identification of causes specific to disfunctionalities, the elaboration of certain programs of activity, where the recovery or amelioration of performances is being assured by using their practical applying. As a matter of fact, performing a company’s diagnosis can be motivated not only by the situation where this shows difficulties, or disfunctionalities respectively, but also when an enterprise proves a health state, but wishes its improvement.global diagnosis, financial diagnosis, financial analysis, enterprise

One of the core values of a capitalistic market is cost efficiency which is tried and true even in cursed with discovering and developing materials as inexpensive as possible. Now, this is for a multitude of reasons but predominantly research funding programs have begun a movement towards development of field/ micro instrumentation and inexpensive solutions to problems that are seen in medical and environmental fields. Nano particles are one vehicle that allow researchers to pursue the funding for developing solutions to some of the issues concerning the nation today. However, many have and are trying to synthesize nano particles from precious metals such as, gold and silver. These nano particles have been wonderful discoveries and have allowed for enhancement in the fields of electronics, medicine, and environmental safety. Although, these achievements are commonly accompanied by concerns of expensive precursors and limited supply. Due to the pitfalls of using precious metals, some have attempted using metals found in great abundance for example, copper, iron, and lead. Yet, these metals have health concerns for people and wild life. So, one way to overcome the great expenses and the health concerns of metal nano particles is to move to a highly abundant elemental on earth, carbon

Micro and nanostructured phases obtained by mechanical alloying - low temperature annealing in AB5-H2 systems

    Get PDF
In this work, the characteristics of a commercial sample of LaNi5 are compared to those of an experimental one obtained by mechanical alloying followed by low temperature annealing. The nominal composition of the experimental sample is Mm-4Ni-1Al where Mm =La0.25Ce0.52Nd0.17Pr0.06. The morphology, nano, micro and structure of each sample are analyzed. Morphology is analyzed by both SEM and TEM. Micro and structure were studied by XRD and nanostructure by TEM. To the detection limits, the commercial sample is a mono phase. The mono phase possesses good crystalline characteristics closely related to samples obtained at annealing in near equilibrium conditions (T > 800 °C, t > 48 h). The Mm-4Ni-1Al sample has an AB5 structure as a major phase. The minor phases were characterized by XRD and TEM. The analysis is completed with the study of the hydrogen sorption properties of each sample. Finally, both types of properties are correlated. The opportunities of improvement of the synthesis method are discussed in relation to the investment costs of each production technique.Fil: Obregon, Sergio Alejandro.
