Design Assistance in Concurrent Integrated Environments

    No full text
This paper presents a design assistance framework for online design process monitoring and design space exploration in concurrent integrated environments. The approach is based on an extension of Predicate Transition Nets as a modelling paradigm. This modelling paradigm provides a formal semantics for the concurrent behaviour of design processes. The presented approach allows the exploration of alternative design processes and their expected behaviour by symbolic execution or simulation of design actions. Net simulation is also used for design process monitoring. The approach is configurable for different design environments and data schemata. This trend causes the development of a variety of design a..
