Controlled release nanoparticulate matter delivery system
A controlled release nanoparticulate matter delivery system includes a plurality of thermoresponsive modules containing a respective nanoparticulate matter. Each thermoresponsive module is selectively operable in at least one of a heating mode that releases the nanoparticulate matter and a cooling mode that inhibits release of the nanoparticulate matter. A control module is in electrical communication with the plurality of thermoresponsive modules. The control module is configured to determine a temperature of each thermoresponsive module and to select the at least one heating mode and cooling mode based on the temperature. The heating and cooling mode may be selected in response to a desired dosing profile and/or a biometric condition.Board of Regents, University of Texas Syste
Health Care Opinion Leaders' Views on Health Care Delivery System Reform
Presents findings of a survey of experts on reforming delivery systems -- organized delivery systems, patient-centered medical homes, and retail clinics -- and recommended policy strategies, such as improving the primary care system
How Can Medicare Lead Delivery System Reform?
Explores options and design issues for reforming the fee-for-service payment system to encourage better, more efficient health care through greater accountability for specific populations and totality of care. Proposes a Medicare demonstration program
Rural Credit Delivery System in Maharashtra: Some Emerging Issues
An investigation into rural credit delivery system in Maharashtra shows slower growth in institutional finances through commercial banks, credit cooperatives, RRBs and LDBs, particularly during the decade of 1991-2000, which is mainly due to adverse environment created by the financial sector reforms. Due to unfavourable policy framework, the entire rural credit delivery system is reduced to a moribund state. High transaction costs and poor repayment performance are the twin root causes of the moribund state of rural credit delivery system. With a view to revive the agricultural credit delivery system, there is need to adopt innovative approaches like linking of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) with mainstream financial institutions. The revival of rural credit delivery system of Maharashtra also depends on strategies that are required for tackling issues such as sustainability and viability, operational efficiency, recovery performance, small farmer coverage and balanced sectoral development of the state.Rural Credit Delivery
Evaluating the Impact of Critical Factors in Agile Continuous Delivery Process: A System Dynamics Approach
Continuous Delivery is aimed at the frequent delivery of good quality software in a speedy, reliable and efficient fashion – with strong emphasis on automation and team collaboration. However, even with this new paradigm, repeatability of project outcome is still not guaranteed: project performance varies due to the various interacting and inter-related factors in the Continuous Delivery 'system'. This paper presents results from the investigation of various factors, in particular agile practices, on the quality of the developed software in the Continuous Delivery process. Results show that customer involvement and the cognitive ability of the QA have the most significant individual effects on the quality of software in continuous delivery
The Public and the Health Care Delivery System
Analyzes survey results on Americans' views on the adoption of electronic medical records (EMR) and its effects on the quality of care, effectiveness, costs, and patient privacy; the efficiency of the system; the impact of rising costs; and other issues
Surface immobilization of hexa-histidine-tagged adeno-associated viral vectors for localized gene delivery.
Adeno-associated viral (AAV) vectors, which are undergoing broad exploration in clinical trials, have significant promise for therapeutic gene delivery because of their safety and delivery efficiency. Gene delivery technologies capable of mediating localized gene expression may further enhance the potential of AAV in a variety of therapeutic applications by reducing spread outside a target region, which may thereby reduce off-target side effects. We have genetically engineered an AAV variant capable of binding to surfaces with high affinity through a hexa-histidine metal-binding interaction. This immobilized AAV vector system mediates high-efficiency delivery to cells that contact the surface and thus may have promise for localized gene delivery, which may aid numerous applications of AAV delivery to gene therapy
Delivery System Reform Tracking: A Framework for Understanding Change
Proposes a framework for tracking progress on delivery system reforms such as patient-centered medical homes and accountable care organizations by assessing structures, capabilities, incentives, and outcomes. Outlines challenges for data collection
