Qualitative and Quantitative Aquatic Algal Data Compilation to Determine Macrotrends
A data base of the algae of Arkansas has been initiated by the selection of a relational data base management system. The system was chosen to be readily available for microcomputers using MS- or PC-DOS. The initial parameters chosen for entry are associated with the classification of the organisms from Class to the Variety level with author and year of initiation. Further annotation includes identification source. Presently, the data base of 1,162 taxa includes 226 Cyanophyceae, 367 Chlorophyceae, 124 Euglenophyceae, 26 Xanthophyceae, 81 Chryso- phyceae, 279 Bacillariophyceae, 33 Pyrrhophyceae, 14 Cryptophyceae, and 5 Rhodophyceae. These taxa are sortable by any of the included parameters. The data base will be archived as a portion of the flora and fauna series of the state of Arkansas
Compilation of the data on the land withdrawals in Alaska
Major decisions an the use and disposition of land in Alaska are being made by the State and Federal governments. These decisions
will affect the utilization of all our land resources including minerals. Since minerals are an essential component of our existance, the availability and access to minerals is an important issue. There are approximately
2600 land orders and acts classifying land in Alaska that restrict the utilization of our minerals resources. As of April 1977, approximately twenty-six percent of Alaska, or 100,875,391 acres was open to mineral
entry and location under the Federal Mining Laws and the State Mining and Mineral leasing Laws
Compilation of Giant Electric Dipole Resonances Built on Excited States
Giant Electric Dipole Resonance (GDR) parameters for gamma decay to excited
states with finite spin and temperature are compiled. Over 100 original works
have been reviewed and from some 70 of which more than 300 parameter sets of
hot GDR parameters for different isotopes, excitation energies, and spin
regions have been extracted. All parameter sets have been brought onto a common
footing by calculating the equivalent Lorentzian parameters. The current
compilation is complementary to an earlier compilation by Samuel S. Dietrich
and Barry L. Berman (At. Data Nucl. Data Tables 38(1988)199-338) on
ground-state photo-neutron and photo-absorption cross sections and their
Lorentzian parameters. A comparison of the two may help shed light on the
evolution of GDR parameters with temperature and spin. The present compilation
is current as of January 2006.Comment: 31 pages including 1 tabl

Maximum stellar mass versus cluster membership number revisited
We have made a new compilation of observations of maximum stellar mass versus
cluster membership number from the literature, which we analyse for consistency
with the predictions of a simple random drawing hypothesis for stellar mass
selection in clusters. Previously, Weidner and Kroupa have suggested that the
maximum stellar mass is lower, in low mass clusters, than would be expected on
the basis of random drawing, and have pointed out that this could have
important implications for steepening the integrated initial mass function of
the Galaxy (the IGIMF) at high masses. Our compilation demonstrates how the
observed distribution in the plane of maximum stellar mass versus membership
number is affected by the method of target selection; in particular, rather low
n clusters with large maximum stellar masses are abundant in observational
datasets that specifically seek clusters in the environs of high mass stars.
Although we do not consider our compilation to be either complete or unbiased,
we discuss the method by which such data should be statistically analysed. Our
very provisional conclusion is that the data is not indicating any striking
deviation from the expectations of random drawing.Comment: 7 pages, 3 Figures; accepted by MNRAS; Reference added
Materials data handbook, aluminum alloy 6061
Comprehensive compilation of technical data on aluminum alloy 6061 is presented in handbook form. The text includes data on the properties of the alloy at cryogenic, ambient, and elevated temperatures and other pertinent information required for the design and fabrication of components and equipment utilizing this alloy
Investigation of spacecraft coatings
Literature review provides compilation of properties of coating materials used for external application on space vehicles. Attention is given to absorptance-emittance data and experimental spectral reference curves
COMPILATION OF ACTIVE FAULT DATA IN PORTUGAL FOR USE IN SEISMIC HAZARD ANALYSIS
To estimate where future earthquakes are likely to occur, it is essential to combine information about past earthquakes with knowledge about the location and seismogenic properties of active faults. For this reason, robust probabilistic seismic hazard analysis (PSHA) integrates seismicity and active fault data. Existing seismic hazard assessments for Portugal rely exclusively on seismicity data and do not incorporate data on active faults. Project SHARE (Seismic Hazard Harmonization in Europe) is an EC-funded initiative (FP7) that aims to evaluate European seismic hazards using an integrated, standardized approach. In the context of SHARE, we are developing a fully-parameterized active fault database for Portugal that incorporates existing compilations, updated according to the most recent publications. The seismogenic source model derived for SHARE will be the first model for Portugal to include fault data and follow an internationally standardized approach. This model can be used to improve both seismic hazard and risk analyses and will be combined with the Spanish database for use in Iberian- and European-scale assessments
