Computer-mediated knowledge hiding as a new form of boundary work in organizations

We draw on a 15-month ethnography of a sales unit to explain how managers use information technology to hide knowledge from their leaders. We show that using IT to withhold knowledge from leaders is a core process in building, raising and reinforcing int
