Rutherford County High School Students Participate in Third Annual Science Academy at GWU

High school students from Rutherford County, N.C., are reporting that a unique week of their summer vacation that has given them new insight into the practical application of scientific principles. Through a grant from the Stonecutter Foundation (Spindale, N.C.), a dozen area teens participated in the third annual Science Academy, a program designed to offer enrichment in the subject of science and help students solidify skills in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). For over a dozen high school students from Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy (TJCA) in Mooresboro, N.C., one of the first weeks of their summer vacation has given them new insight into the practical application of scientific principles they have learned in the classroom. Gardner-Webb Students Participate in Internships all Over the World

This summer, several Gardner-Webb University students are working internships all over the world—from South Africa to Shelby, N.C. To give the campus community an idea of the various places students are serving, Micah Martin, director, and Shea Mattingly, associate director, from the GWU Center for Personal and Professional Development have featured them in virtual road trips.
