China Topsoil Stripping Suitability Evaluation Based on Soil Properties

International audienceThe purpose of topsoil stripping reuse is to provide a good cultivation platform for agricultural site conditions, namely increasing soil thickness and improving soil fertility levels. Based on soil type, using the thickness of the soil and organic matter content as criteria, the natural suitability of stripped topsoil from different regions were evaluated. The evaluation results were divided into five levels: Most suitable, suitable, moderately suitable, less suitable, and unsuitable. The results show that the highest degree of topsoil stripping natural suitability is mainly distributed in the Northeast region, along the middle and lower Yangtze River, and the region south of the Yangtze River. The most unsuitable regions for topsoil stripping natural suitability are mainly located in the hilly regions of the Sichuan Basin and the eastern part of the Northwest. The topsoil stripping process must be based on the soil properties of both the original site and the transplantation location
