    Caracter铆sticas de la formaci贸n deportiva en participantes de los IV Juegos Deportivos Escolares, Armenia 2013

    Objective: to characterize some processes of the school sports training of the participants in the IV Central American and Caribbean School Sports Games, Armenia, 2013. Materials and methods: quantitative study, with a descriptive and cross-sectional scope. From a universe of 683 participants, a sample of 233 athletes (102 men and 131 women), between 15 and 17 years of age, belonging to nine participating delegations, was intentionally selected, who answered a survey that characterized the processes of school sports training. Results: the majority of students belong to a sports program independent of their educational institution, such as sports clubs, leagues and schools; the sports organization is given mainly by school sports clubs, the main social agent for motivation were the parents. Conclusions: high achievement sports training is not a matter corresponding to educational institutions; It is likely that the representation of the students is not their merit, but rather that of sports entities such as clubs, sports schools and leagues. The main motivating agent was not the physical education teacher, but the parents, other family members, and the coach.Objetivo: caracterizar algunos procesos de la formaci贸n deportiva escolar de los participantes a los IV Juegos Deportivos Escolares Centroamericanos y del Caribe, Armenia, 2013. Materiales y m茅todos: estudio cuantitativo, con alcance descriptivo y de corte transversal. De un universo de 683 participantes, fue seleccionada intencionalmente una muestra de 233 deportistas (102 hombres y 131 mujeres), entre 15 y 17 a帽os de edad pertenecientes a nueve delegaciones participantes, quienes respondieron una encuesta que caracterizaba los procesos de formaci贸n deportiva escolar. Resultados: los estudiantes pertenecen en su mayor铆a a un programa deportivo independiente de su instituci贸n educativa, como clubes, ligas y escuelas deportivas; la organizaci贸n deportiva se da principalmente por clubes deportivos escolares, el principal agente social para la motivaci贸n fueron los padres de familia. Conclusiones: la formaci贸n deportiva de altos logros no es un asunto correspondiente a las instituciones educativas; es probable que la representaci贸n de los estudiantes no sea m茅rito de ellas, sino de las entidades deportivas como clubes, escuelas deportivas y ligas.
