The stages in this research are data reduction, data withdrawal, and conclusions. Checking the validity of the data uses source triangulation and technical triangulation.
The research results obtained were that in carrying out activities, planning, implementation and evaluation had been implemented well. The obstacle in activities is the lack of enthusiasm of male students in one of the types of activities available, but efforts have been made to overcome this. The impact of cultural srawung activities is enough to strengthen the profile of Pancasila students in the six dimensions of class 4 students. However, there is still a need for further strengthening from class 4 guardians so that the profile of Pancasila students can be even better in students
Extending conceptualisations of the diversity and value of extracurricular activities: a cultural capital approach to graduate outcomes
This report presents the findings from the research project Extending conceptualisations of the diversity and value of extra curricular activities: a cultural capital approach to graduate outcomes. Very little research has directly addressed the question of what constitutes extra-curricular activities (ECA), the extent to which students engage in ECA, and how students experience and conceptualise benefits from their engagement. Nor is there research that looks at how staff understand ECA. This research sought to address these questions from a cultural capital approach. Traditionally conceived ECA include campus-based cultural and sporting activities and volunteering. An awareness is required of the fact that many students work for economic reasons, continue their faith and caring activities, and continue to live at home. The researchers were interested in the possible differential recognition and valuing of activities undertaken by different groups of students. This research explores issues of inter-generational capital that might shape both the capacities to participate and how students understood the benefits
Compendium of Cultural Competence Initiatives in Health Care
Public and private sector organizations are involved in a number of activities that seek to reduce cultural and communication barriers to health care. These activities are often described as cultural competency and/or cross-cultural education. A recent Institute of Medicine report recommended that the health care system pursue several of these techniques as part of a multi-level strategy to reduce racial and ethnic disparities in medical care. To address this need, the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation has developed a compendium, as a first attempt to describe these activities in a single document. The compendium was prepared in response to the many requests from the media and others to define cultural competency and identify efforts underway in this emerging field. The initiatives included in the compendium are from 1990 to the present and it is divided into two categories: Public Sector Initiatives (Federal/state/local) and Private Sector Initiatives (health care institutions or professional organizations, foundations, academic institutions/policy research organizations, and other). This resource also includes brief definitions for the major terms, organizational descriptions of initiatives and a list of experts in the field
Cross correlations of the American baby names
The quantitative description of cultural evolution is a challenging task. The
most difficult part of the problem is probably to find the appropriate
measurable quantities that can make more quantitative such evasive concepts as,
for example, dynamics of cultural movements, behavior patterns and traditions
of the people. A strategy to tackle this issue is to observe particular
features of human activities, i.e. cultural traits, such as names given to
newborns. We study the names of babies born in the United States of America
from 1910 to 2012. Our analysis shows that groups of different correlated
states naturally emerge in different epochs, and we are able to follow and
decrypt their evolution. While these groups of states are stable across many
decades, a sudden reorganization occurs in the last part of the twentieth
century. We think that this kind of quantitative analysis can be possibly
extended to other cultural traits: although databases covering more than one
century (as the one we used) are rare, the cultural evolution on shorter time
scales can be studied thanks to the fact that many human activities are usually
recorded in the present digital era.Comment: submitted for consideration to PNA

The European Union’s Multi-Level Cultural Diplomacy vis-à-vis the United States of America. Working Paper Series W-2018/7
This paper examines how, to what extent and why the EU engages in cultural diplomacy vis-à-vis the US. While providing an empirical review of and conceptual reflection on the current state of the EU’s (including key member states’) efforts at employing cultural diplomacy vis-à-vis the US, the paper also strives to explain the forms of this activity. It argues that a multi-level EU cultural diplomacy in the US does exist, but that its potential is currently underused. As could be expected, the EU Delegation to the US seems to be most willing to pursue EU cultural diplomacy, whereas the extent of EU cultural diplomacy at the level of coordinated activities between the EU and the member states, as well as at the member state level remains low. This finding can be explained primarily with a latent competition between member states. While the general motivation to engage in cultural diplomacy can be interest- or value-driven – and is in the case of EU cultural diplomacy vis-à-vis the US arguably both –, it is undeniable that, in a country like the US, the interest-driven soft power competition that is often a key incentive for actors to engage in cultural diplomacy activities at all plays out negatively inside the EU. These findings are corroborated by a brief discussion of the potential acceptance of EU cultural action in the US, which highlights how, despite positive perceptions of European culture as such, the EU is hardly recognized as an actor in the field of culture
