BACKGROUND: Considering the importance of psychological factors in exacerbating diseases such as obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), this study was carried out aiming to compare the early maladaptive schemas (EMSs), perseverative thinking, and somatoform dissociation among normal individuals and patients with OCD.METHODS: The causal-comparative (ex post facto) method was used in this study. The population consisted of all patients with OCD referring to the centers for comprehensive urban health services of Ardabil, Iran, in the second half of 2017. The research cluster sampling included 30 patients with OCD whose disease was diagnosed by a responsible physician or clinical psychologist, selected by random sampling method. Moreover, 30 normal people were selected in the sampling method by matching age, sex, and marital status and included in the study. The subjects responded to the Maudsley Obsessive-Compulsive Inventory (MOCI), Young Schema Questionnaire (YSQ), Perseverative Thinking Questionnaire (PTQ), and Somatoform Dissociation Questionnaire (SDQ). Data were analyzed using multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA).RESULTS: The results showed that the mean scores of patients with OCD in EMSs, perseverative thinking, and Somatoform dissociation were significantly higher than normal subjects (P < 0.001).CONCLUSION: The results of this study showed that patients with OCD differ in a wide range of EMSs, perseverative thinking, Somatoform dissociation from normal subjects. Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to these cognitive components in the treatment process

The Implementation of Neural Network On Determining the Determinant Factors Towards Students’ Stress Resistance

Stress is a condition that commonly felt by almost everyone, including college student. Naturally, human beings have a stress resistance in various levels. On previous research, an artificial neural network with backpropagation algorithm has been built to predict stress resistance level among college student. The level of stress resistance was predicted using four determinant factors i.e. frustration tolerance, conflict tolerance, anxiety tolerance, and tolerance to perceive changes as a challenge. On that research, the artificial neural network can predict stress resistance among college student correctly with an accuracy reach 75% after being trained up to 10334 epochs. On this research, dimensional reduction method will be applied on the determinant factors of stress resistance to eliminate disturbance factor and increase the accuracy of artificial neural networks in predicting stress resistance among college student. After the network was trained without disturbance factor i.e. anxiety tolerance, better network obtained. Experimental result showed that artificial neural network not only has better accuracy up to 81.5% but also faster training process which is only take 5000 epochs. Based on these results, the determinant factors of stress resistance among college student are: frustration tolerance, conflict tolerance, and tolerance to perceive changes as a challenge

The present study intends to increase the psychological well-being and quality of life of the patients and their psychological conditions due to emotional discharge with the written structure in the patients suffering from psychosomatic. After using the comprehensive physiological well-being and quality of life questionnaires, eventually 40 patients who were suffering from psychosomatic disorder were selected from among the patients who had referred to Imam Khomeini hospital in Tehran whose selected by convience sampling and regarding to exclude -include criteria. Then, they formed two groups: experimental and control group, on the random basis. After written emotional expression, the data which had been gathered were analyzed using a covariance analysis statistic test. Findings of this study indicated that the emotional expression made a meaningful decrease in the quality of life, health and physical conditions and so, well-being of the subjects of experimental group compared to control group (P< 0.05). Further, emotional disclosure helps people in improving quality of life, psychological well-being and enhancing health and physical conditions in longtime by dissociating the procedure of inhibiting emotions
