Description of the CUDF Format
This document contains several related specifications, together they describe
the document formats related to the solver competition which will be organized
by Mancoosi. In particular, this document describes: - DUDF (Distribution
Upgradeability Description Format), the document format to be used to submit
upgrade problem instances from user machines to a (distribution-specific)
database of upgrade problems; - CUDF (Common Upgradeability Description
Format), the document format used to encode upgrade problems, abstracting over
distribution-specific details. Solvers taking part in the competition will be
fed with input in CUDF format

Describes the components of a complete statistical metadata system and suggests ways to create and structure metadata for better access and understanding of data sets by diverse users
OpenJML: Software verification for Java 7 using JML, OpenJDK, and Eclipse
OpenJML is a tool for checking code and specifications of Java programs. We
describe our experience building the tool on the foundation of JML, OpenJDK and
Eclipse, as well as on many advances in specification-based software
verification. The implementation demonstrates the value of integrating
specification tools directly in the software development IDE and in automating
as many tasks as possible. The tool, though still in progress, has now been
used for several college-level courses on software specification and

A Survey of Languages for Specifying Dynamics: A Knowledge Engineering Perspective
A number of formal specification languages for knowledge-based systems has been developed. Characteristics for knowledge-based systems are a complex knowledge base and an inference engine which uses this knowledge to solve a given problem. Specification languages for knowledge-based systems have to cover both aspects. They have to provide the means to specify a complex and large amount of knowledge and they have to provide the means to specify the dynamic reasoning behavior of a knowledge-based system. We focus on the second aspect. For this purpose, we survey existing approaches for specifying dynamic behavior in related areas of research. In fact, we have taken approaches for the specification of information systems (Language for Conceptual Modeling and TROLL), approaches for the specification of database updates and logic programming (Transaction Logic and Dynamic Database Logic) and the generic specification framework of abstract state machine

Software tools for stochastic programming: A Stochastic Programming Integrated Environment (SPInE)
SP models combine the paradigm of dynamic linear programming with
modelling of random parameters, providing optimal decisions which hedge
against future uncertainties. Advances in hardware as well as software
techniques and solution methods have made SP a viable optimisation tool.
We identify a growing need for modelling systems which support the creation
and investigation of SP problems. Our SPInE system integrates a number of
components which include a flexible modelling tool (based on stochastic
extensions of the algebraic modelling languages AMPL and MPL), stochastic
solvers, as well as special purpose scenario generators and database tools.
We introduce an asset/liability management model and illustrate how SPInE
can be used to create and process this model as a multistage SP application
