A Review of Object Detection Models based on Convolutional Neural Network

Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) has become the state-of-the-art for object detection in image task. In this chapter, we have explained different state-of-the-art CNN based object detection models. We have made this review with categorization those detection models according to two different approaches: two-stage approach and one-stage approach. Through this chapter, it has shown advancements in object detection models from R-CNN to latest RefineDet. It has also discussed the model description and training details of each model. Transaction cost economics faces serious problems concerning the way it deals, or fails to deal, with bounded rationality, the efficiency of outcomes, trust, innovation, learning and the nature of knowledge. The competence view yields an alternative perspective on the purpose and boundaries of the firm. However, the competence view cannot ignore issues of governance, and in spite of serious criticism, transaction cost economics yields useful concepts to deal with it. From Keyword Search to Exploration: How Result Visualization Aids Discovery on the Web

A key to the Web's success is the power of search. The elegant way in which search results are returned is usually remarkably effective. However, for exploratory search in which users need to learn, discover, and understand novel or complex topics, there is substantial room for improvement. Human computer interaction researchers and web browser designers have developed novel strategies to improve Web search by enabling users to conveniently visualize, manipulate, and organize their Web search results. This monograph offers fresh ways to think about search-related cognitive processes and describes innovative design approaches to browsers and related tools. For instance, while key word search presents users with results for specific information (e.g., what is the capitol of Peru), other methods may let users see and explore the contexts of their requests for information (related or previous work, conflicting information), or the properties that associate groups of information assets (group legal decisions by lead attorney). We also consider the both traditional and novel ways in which these strategies have been evaluated. From our review of cognitive processes, browser design, and evaluations, we reflect on the future opportunities and new paradigms for exploring and interacting with Web search results

Towards a Transaction Cost Theory of Management Control

In this paper, I present and discuss a theory of management control based on TransactionCost Economics. This theory specifies the composition of various archetypal control structures,and links these to their respective habitat. These are: (1) arm's length control; (2)machine control; (3) exploratory control; and (4) boundary control. The gist of the argumentis that activities predictably differ in the control problems to which they give rise, whereascontrol archetypes differ in their problem-solving ability, and that alignments between thetwo can be explained by delineating the efficiency properties of the match. This approachhas some interesting qualities. Its relatively simple theme seems to speak to a wide empiricaldomain, and can be used to make sense of a large set of different control practices.Furthermore, it offers a practicable way to address control structure effectiveness. Framing-effects approach: A theoretical and methodological critique

The article deals with research on framing effects. First, I will start with classifying different approaches on framing. Subsequently, I will provide a definition of the concepts of frame, schema and framing, expand on framing research conducted so far - both theoretically and operationally. Having this equipment at hand, I will initiate a discussion on studies of framing-effects in terms of theory, methods and empirical results. This discussion leads to the conclusion that studies on framing effects are insufficiently concerned with the more recent psychological constructs and theories. In merely focusing on the activation of schemata, most studies ignore the more elaborate types of framing-effects. Therefore, several empirical questions remain unanswered and some methodical chances seem to be wasted
