    No full text
Abstract This paper presents an outline of a methodology for the test of an open software e-learning platform. The methodology includes a test generation method from UML descriptions, in particular Sequence, Activity, Class diagrams and Navigation maps. It also includes data modelling proposing two approaches: one based on OCL and the other on UML profiles. The studied open software e-learning platform is dotLRN, an open source enterprise-class suite of web applications and portal framework for supporting course management, online communities and collaborations. The work presented in this paper is being developed in the framework of the E-LANE 1 project, an European and Latin American collaboration for the creation of an open software integrated platform for e-learning
