Open charm meson spectroscopy: Where to place the latest piece of the puzzle
We discuss how to classify the meson recently
discovered by the BaBar Collaboration. We consider four possible assignments,
together with signatures useful to distinguish among them.Comment: RevTeX, 5 pages, 1 eps figur

The newly observed open-charm states in quark model
Comparing the measured properties of the newly observed open-charm states
D(2550), D(2600), D(2750), D(2760), D_{s1}(2710), D_{sJ}(2860), and
D_{sJ}(3040) with our predicted spectroscopy and strong decays in a constituent
quark model, we find that: (1) the assignment to D(2550) remains
open for its too broad width determined by experiment; (2) the D(2600) and
can be identified as the - mixtures; (3) if
the D(2760) and D(2750) are indeed the same resonance, they would be the
; otherwise, they could be assigned as the and
, respectively; (4) the could be either the
's partner or the ; and (5) both the
and interpretations for the seem likely. The
and radiative decays of these sates are also studied. Further
experimental efforts are needed to test the present quarkonium assignments for
these new open-charm states.Comment: 26 pages,7 figures, journal versio
Kesan Saliniti dan Keamatan Cahaya ke atas Pertumbuhan Chiorella virginica
A study on the effects of salinity and light intensity on the growth of Chlorella virginica was conducted
in an environmental control room at a temperature of 22 ±;Pc. Salinities were set at 15 ppt,
20 ppt, 25 ppt and 30 ppt while light intensities were at 1140 lux, 2260 lux and 3040 lux. The effect
of salinity and light intensity was found to be significantly different (P <0. 01 - 0.05). Optimum salinity
for the growth of Chlorella virginica was at 15 ppt whilst optimum light intensity was at 3040 lux. Interaction
between salinity and light intensity was also significantly different (P <0.01 - 0.05) whereby
maximum growth (39375 cells/pJ) was obtained at a salinity of 15 ppt and light intensity of 3040 lux
Alaska's Citizens Lock Out Private Prisons
Since the mid-1990s - through six legislative sessions and three gubernatorial administrations - Alaska's lawmakers have made more than a half dozen attempts to privatize prisons. These attempts have met with unfavorable public opinion. To date, the strength of public opposition has prevailed, and all private prison proposals have been defeated.Fast FactsStaying true to her campaign promise not to accept campaign contributions from Veco Corp, Gov. Effect of thermodynamics on ion mixing
Ion mixing of elemental 4d-5d metallic bilayers at 77 K by 600 keV Xe + + ions has been studied to test the validity of the phenomenological model of ion mixing that predicts a dependence on the chemical heats of mixing, DeltaHmix, and on the cohesive energies, DeltaHcoh, of the bilayer elements. A series of samples was chosen to minimize the variation in kinematical properties between samples while maximizing the variation in heats of mixing. The experimental results agree well with the model's predictions, and the experimentally determined constants K1=0.034 Å and K2=27 agree with those of previous work
