Hans K\ufcng and the Dialogue with Karl Barth
This paper examines Hans K\ufcng\u2019s (1928 -) dissertation Justification: The Doctrine of Karl Barth and a Catholic Reflection (1957). In his first work K\ufcng compared the doctrine of justification, as understood by the Protestant theologian Karl Barth (1886-1968) to the classic Catholic theology affirmed by the Council of Trent (1545-1563), which remained the Church's doctrine for the next four hundred years. K\ufcng expressed the idea that there is a fundamental agreement between Trent and Barth's doctrine and that the divergent viewpoints "would not warrant a division in the Church."
The book has become a classic work and \uabmarked the dawn of a new era of positive ecumenical discussion of a doctrine which had hitherto been seen largerly as an insuperable obstacle to such dialogue\ubb (A. E. McGrath).
The main purpose of this essay is to clarify the anthropological-theological structure of K\ufcng\u2019s book. It is intended as a critical analysis and a contribution to our current discussions.

Historical Consequence of the Misinterpretation of the Doctrine of Election
The goal of this research was to demonstrate how Scripture has been misrepresented throughout the centuries and utilized as a specific tool to enable nations and empires with more sophisticated technological backgrounds to exploit developing cultures and relegate them to a position of inferiority. Specifically, the misinterpretation of the Doctrine of Election has been a principle motivating factor and justification to conquer indigenous groups and subjugate populations under the guise of proselytization. Colonization, Imperialism, Slavery and nation-sanctioned discrimination have all occurred under the self-righteous banner of performing God’s will. Biblical principle and doctrine neither advocate nor condone any of the latter mentioned man-made principles. God’s Word has been purposefully twisted through the advent of perceived idealism read into Biblical Doctrine, as opposed to understanding what the Scripture actually intended and designed in its original meaning and context by the original author. The research reveals, through Biblical exegetical analysis that the meaning of Scripture has nothing to do with preeminent discriminatory practices, and that the continued misinterpretation of Scripture will have long-lasting negative repercussions
Indian GDP, 1600-1871 : some preliminary estimates and a comparison with Britain.
This paper provides estimates of Indian GDP constructed from the output side for the period 1600-1871, and combines them with population estimates to track changes in living standards. Indian per capita GDP declined steadily. As British living standards increased from the mid-seventeenth century, India fell increasingly behind. Whereas in 1650, Indian per capita GDP was more than 80 per cent of the British level, by 1871 it had fallen to less than 15 per cent. As well as placing the origins of
the Great Divergence firmly in the early modern period, these estimates suggest a relatively prosperous India at the height of the Mughal Empire, with living standards well above bare bones subsistence
