Net phytoplankton of the Admiralty Bay (King George Island, South Shetland Islands) in 1983
Paper received 13 July 1985.Phytoplankton sampling from 13 stations situated in Admiralty Bay
was carried out in March. April, May, October and November 1983. Wet settling
volume of seston, its dry weight, number of cells under 1 m², and qualitative composition
of phytoplankton were determined. It was found that amount of phytoplankton
was decreasing in April and increasing again in November after the winter season.
The share of benthic and periphyton species in the qualitative composition of phytoplankton
was quite significant, whereas their quantitative share was rather small.
163 taxa of algae were identified in the net phytoplankton; among these 107 taxa
were reported for the first time from the Admiralty Bay. Most abundantly met
throughout the entire study period were: Corethron criophilum and Thalassiothrix antarctica.These studies were supported by the Polish Academy of Sciences within the MR I—29

Traditionally, transitivity phenomena are treated as a combination of different types of entities, formed as a result of the transformation processes or the reflection of the intermediate, syncretic facts that characterize the language system in the synchronous aspect.В современной лингвистике изучение сложных системных отношений и языкового динамизма вряд ли будет полным без учета синкретизма. Phytogenic food of Euphausia superba Dana caught in the southern Drake Passage and the Bransfield Strait, February—March 1981 (BIOMASS-FIBEX)
These studies were carried out on board of the r/v "Profesor Siedlecki" within the
Programme MR-I-29A of the Polish Academy of Sciences, during the Antarctic Expedition
headed by Dr. S. Rakusa-Suszczewski. Paper received 3 December 1981.The phytogenic food composition in the stomachs of Euphausia superba
Dana, caught at 18 sampling stations in the Antarctic part of the Atlantic Ocean,
was analysed. The material used was taken from krill catches made from the board
of the r/v "Profesor Siedlecki" in the sector "A" of the BIOMASS-FIBEX Programme,
in February and March 1981. In the food of Euphausia superba 70 algal taxa were
identified, including 68 taxa belonging to Bacillariophyceae and two to Chrvsophyceae.
Planctonic diatoms were the main component of the food of Euphausia superba. Single
benthic diatoms were found occasionally.Badano zawartość żołądków Euphausia superba pobranych trałem przemysłowym i siatką

i marcu 1981 r. Stacje wyznaczone były w części antarktycznej Oceanu Atlantyckiego w okolicach
Szetlandów Południowych (rys. 1). Żołądki pobierano ze świeżo złowionych osobników.
W pokarmie Euphausia superba zidentyfikowano 70 taksonów glonów, w tym 68 okrzemek
(tabela I). Najczęściej i najliczniej w pokarmie występowały okrzemki: Nitzschia curta,
Nitzschia cylindrica, Nitzschia sp., Chaetoceros sp., Coscinodiscus sp. W Cieśninie Bransfielda
dominowały rodzaje Coscinodiscus i Chaetoceros, w Cieśninie Drake'a i na zachód od wyspy
Anvers przeważały gatunki z rodzaju Nitzschia. Wiele okrzemek obecnych w żołądkach było
rozdrobnionych, a ich identyfikacja odbywała się na podstawie zachowanych fragmentów.
Głównym składnikiem pokarmu roślinnego Euphausia superba były okrzemki planktonowe.

Necrophagous invertebrates of the Admiralty Bay of King George Island (South Shetland Islands, Antarctica)
Paper received 15 June 1985.In 1977 and 1980 rich materials of necrophagous invertebrates were
collected in the Admiralty Bay of King George Island. The collecting was carried out
in 9 stations differing with respect to their habitat conditions. The stations were
established at depths ranging from 5 to 90 m. In baited traps placed in the stations
295074 specimens of various animals belonging to almost 100 taxa were caught. It was
found that 23 species out of the above mentioned taxa were necrophagous, and 10 further
species were suspected of necrophagy. On the basis of their specific composition and
domination structure the summer and winter assemblages of necrophagous invertebrates
were described and compared with each other. An analysis of spatial and seasonal
changes in the structure and abundance of these assemblages was carried out. and the
habitat preferences of particular species as well as a list of species displaying permanent
or seasonal necrophagy were determinted. Three forms of the competitive community
of necrophagous invertebrates were distinguished.The present investigations were supported by the Polish Academy of Sciences as
a part of the Projects MR —II I6A and MR I 29A, and they were carried out during
the I-st (I976-78) and IV—th (1979—80) Polish Antarctic Expeditions to the "Arctowski"

Determination Of Formation Regimes For Bilayer Cobalt Dysprosium Intermetalic Surface Alloy
High tech industrial fields on modern development stage are in need of construction materials with an optimal ratio of volume and surface properties, along with low cost of material itself. As evidenced by studies, in order to give a set complex of properties to a workpiece that operates under specific conditions, it is often sufficient to only modify its surface area. Over the course of studies, by means of gravimetric, influence of technological parameters (temperature and time samples are kept in the melt) on specific mass change of cobalt samples, that act as substrate, during electroless diffusive saturation with dysprosium in eutectic melt of lithium and potassium chlorides have been studied. A mathematical dependency was established for specific mass change of cobalt samples on time spent in melt for temperature range of 873–973 K. Composition of intermetallic coats obtained on surface of cobalt samples was studied means of EDX and SEM analyses. It was discovered, that for chosen temperature range, diffusion layers formed on surface of cobalt samples consists of two structural zones that correspond to Co-Dy and Cp2Dy phases
