Reframing Roman Liturgy

This book presents a critical edition of a collection of liturgical manuscripts that the Augustinian friar Onofrio Panvinio (1530–1568) assembled in the 1560s for the Cardinal Alessandro Farnese as well as for Hans Jakob Fugger in Augsburg. Onofrio Panvinio is primarily known for his antiquarian studies about ancient Rome and for his edition of Bartolomeo Platina’s Lives of the Popes. His preoccupation with the Roman rite, however, remains until today largely unnoticed by modern scholarship. This edition of Panvinio’s Vetusti aliquot rituales libri highlights his interests in the development of Roman liturgy during the last sessions of the Council of Trent (1545–1563) by presenting the various documentary as well as cultural layers of Panvinio’s collection of Roman ritual manuscripts

Grazia, salvezza e religioni secondo la dottrina del concilio Vaticano II: 'Memorandum' per la teologia delle religioni (I)

Numerosos exponentes de la ‘Teología de las Religiones’, sobre todo los de tendencia pluralista, están convencidos de que el concilio Vaticano II ha reconocido el valor salvífico de las religiones no cristianas, verdaderas y propias mediaciones, a través de las cuales Dios con su gracia obra la salvación. Pero, ¿el concilio autoriza esta conclusión? El artículo responde a este interrogante analizando los textos conciliares que tratan los temas de la gracia, la salvación y las religiones a la luz de la documentación oficial contenida en las Actas. Así se demuestra la falta de fundamento de esas tesis, ya que, en realidad, el concilio se opone al reconocimiento de cualquier valor salvífico de las religiones. Commentary and critical edition of a twelfth century collection of glosses to Statius’s Thebais (books VII-XII), ascribable to Hilarius of Olréans, Abelard’s friend, author of a Virgil commentar and initiator of the classical reading’s glorious tradition (lecturae ad auctores) in the Loire’s valley. The Thebais’s glosses ascribable to Hilarius of Orléans had a wide and sound fortune until the late Renaissance. Giovanni Boccaccio owned a copy of this commentary and used it to write his Teseida; Francesco Petrarca copied information taken from these glosses in the margins of his copy of Vergil (Vergilius Ambrosianus)
