Angela Stuesse is an Associate Professor of Anthropology at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Her book, Scratching Out a Living, explores how the Mississippi poultry industry’s cultivation of a precarious labor force has transformed communities and prospects for worker organizing.
