Analysis of two sample problems from some multinomial probability models

Abstract

In this paper, first we consider a multinomial probability model where some of the parameters from the first sample and those from the second sample are the same. When we obtain two independent samples from this model, the total information may not be equal to the sum of the within information and the between information. This paper also presents a data-structure condition where the total information is equal to the sum of the within information and the between information under the above model. A related multinomial propbability model is also discussed
