We have performed experiments in the Michigan Tech Pi Chamber to assess the response of a steady-state, liquid water cloud to in situ injection of a hygroscopic powder. Three materials were tested: jet-milled NaCl, a newly developed NaCl-TiO2 core-shell material, and Arizona test dust as a non-hygroscopic control. Injection of the hygroscopic materials resulted in an increase of the local liquid water content, stimulating formation of droplets up to 60 microns in diameter.
