Hand hygiene practice and its relationship with the prevention of cvc infections in adult ICU patients, Lima, Lima, 2024

Abstract

Este estudio tuvo como finalidad principal describir y resaltar la importancia de la higiene de manos en relación con la prevención de infecciones asociadas al catéter venoso central (CVC). El objetivo fue establecer el vínculo entre la correcta práctica de asepsia de manos y la reducción de infecciones por CVC en pacientes de la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos (UCI) de adultos, en Lima, durante el año 2024. Las palabras clave utilizadas son higiene de manos y prevención de infecciones de CVC. El enfoque metodológico adoptado fue el hipotético deductivo, con un diseño de investigación no experimental. La población incluida en la muestra estará conformada por licenciados del área de UCI adulto. Como instrumento de recolección de datos se empleará una encuesta.This study was primarily conducted to describe and highlight the importance of hand hygiene in relation to the prevention of central venous catheter (CVC) infections. The objective was to establish the connection between proper hand asepsis practices and the reduction of CVC infections in adult Intensive Care Unit (ICU) patients in Lima, 2024. The keywords used are hand hygiene and CVC infection prevention. The methodological approach was hypothetical deductive, with a non-experimental research design. The population included in the sample will consist of licensed nurses from the adult ICU. A survey will be used as the data collection instrument.Innovación en salud integral y gestión sanitaria
